Victor Vodnik locks down second save of season Thursday
by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Fri, Apr 17th 7:49am EDT
Victor Vodnik pitched around a one-out walk in a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his second save of the year in Colorado's 3-2 win over Houston on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact:
Vodnik allowed a one-out walk to Jose Altuve in the ninth, but got Yordan Alvarez and Isaac Paredes on a pair of fly outs to earn his second save in three chances this season. After blowing a save in his first outing of the year, Vodnik has not allowed an earned run over his last six appearances, lowering his ERA to 2.25. However, he has allowed eight hits and four walks - with just five strikeouts - in eight innings, which is a high number of baserunners for a closer. Stay tuned to this situation as Jimmy Herget (1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP) and Anthony Senzatela (0.00 ERA, 0.57 WHIP) have better numbers to start the year and both also have a save to their credit this season.
