Shane McClanahan gives up eight hits Sunday
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Rays Correspondent | Mon, Apr 20th 6:11am EDT
Shane McClanahan allowed four earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings in Sunday's 6-3 loss against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Fantasy Impact:
McClanahan had struggled with command in his first three starts, issuing 12 walks, but he did not allow a free pass on Sunday despite allowing a season-high eight hits. He surrendered three straight hits to open the first, which led to a run, then settled in with three scoreless innings before running into trouble in the fifth, allowing four hits that led to three runs before exiting. He now owns a 5.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP on the season and will look for a better showing in his next scheduled outing on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins.
