Jose Quintana goes 5.2 innings in no-decision Thursday

by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Fri, May 8th 6:53am EDT

Jose Quintana allowed two runs on five hits, walked two, and struck out two in 5.2 innings of work on Thursday as the Rockies defeated the Mets, 6-2.

Fantasy Impact:

The lefthander allowed both runs in the second inning as the Mets jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Then, Quintana surrendered a one-out triple to Juan Soto in the third but, after a walk to Bo Bichette, induced an inning-ending double play from Mark Vientos to escape trouble. He was pulled after allowing a two-out infield single in the sixth - and after only 74 pitches - with Colorado trailing, 2-1. Quintana has now allowed two runs or fewer in three straight starts and has a 2.12 ERA in 17 innings during the stretch. Overall, he has a respectable 3.90 ERA in six starts, though his fantasy value is limited by just a 14:13 K:BB ratio in 30 innings. He's scheduled to start again on Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
