Burch Smith roughed up as opener Saturday versus Royals
by Brenton Kemp | Tigers Correspondent | Sun, May 10th 12:27pm EDT
Tigers right-hander Burch Smith allowed two earned runs in just 1/3 of an inning as the Tigers' opener on Saturday against the Royals, taking the loss as a result.
Fantasy Impact:
Smith surrendered a leadoff double followed by an inside-the-park homer to Bobby Witt Jr. in the top of the first inning. He would allow a single to Vinnie Pasquantino before a Salvador Perez flyout ended his outing after just four hitters. Despite the rough outing, Smith has been solid this season, carrying a 3.09 ERA alongside a 2.53 FIP and big-time 12.34 K/9 across eight appearances and 11 2/3 innings of work on the campaign.
