Eury Perez delivers quality start Friday

Eury Perez allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out five over 6.1 innings in Friday's 2-1 victory over the New York Mets.

Perez bounced back in a big way on Friday after allowing five earned runs in his previous outing, surrendering just one earned run while picking up a quality start. It marked the first time since April 19 that he allowed one run or fewer in a start. Perez now owns a 4.91 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 63 strikeouts across 58.2 innings this season. He will look to build on Friday’s strong outing in his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
