Sandy Alcantara allows six runs Thursday
by Nicholas Rodriguez | Marlins Correspondent | Fri, May 22nd 4:35am EDT
Sandy Alcantara allowed six earned runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out three over six innings in Thursday's 9-3 loss against the Atlanta Braves.
Fantasy Impact:
Alcantara surrendered a two-run home run to Michael Harris II in the first inning and a solo shot to Mike Yastrzemski in the second. While he was able to settle in with scoreless third and fourth innings, he ran into more trouble in the fifth and sixth frames, allowing three additional runs. Alcantara has been wildly inconsistent of late. He has turned in two quality starts in May, but he has also allowed seven earned runs in one outing and six runs in another. Across four starts this month, Alcantara owns a 6.04 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with 17 strikeouts over 22.1 innings. His next scheduled start is on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
