Jordan Wicks goes only two innings in loss to Cardinals on Sunday
by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, May 31st 11:13pm EDT
Jordan Wicks allowed three runs on four hits with one strikeout in two innings as the Cubs dropped a 5-1 decision to the Cardinals on Sunday night.
Fantasy Impact:
Wicks made his second start of the season on Sunday and allowed three consecutive hits to start the game as the Cardinals scored a pair of first-inning runs. Wicks did retire six straight batters after the first three reached, but allowed a leadoff single in the third to end his night. It's been a rough time for the southpaw as he is 0-2 with a 15.63 ERA in two starts this season. Wicks has allowed 11 runs on 13 hits in 6.1 innings, but does have a 6:1 K:BB ratio. He is tentatively scheduled to start on Saturday against the Giants, but may not be needed if Edward Cabrera (finger) doesn't need an extended stay on the IL.
