Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty pitched five scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season on Tuesday against the Rays.

Flaherty has endured a tough season, but was able to shut down a formidable Rays offense on the road on Tuesday. The right-hander scattered five hits and walked two against six strikeouts on the night. The veteran has now allowed just three earned runs across his last 10 2/3 innings over his last two starts with 15 strikeouts against just three walks in that time. He sports a 5.31 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through 13 starts, but will look to keep the recent momentum rolling in a home start against the Twins on Tuesday.
