Gabriel Moreno hits go-ahead homer in eighth inning Sunday
by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Sun, Jun 14th 11:29pm EDT
Gabriel Moreno had only one hit in five at bats on Sunday, but his hit was a go-ahead solo home run in the eighth inning to lift the Diamondbacks to a 5-3 win over the Reds.
Fantasy Impact:
Moreno snapped a 3-3 tie as he took Zach Maxwell deep in the eighth inning for his sixth home run of the season. The catcher got off to a slow start but is heating up as of late, batting .346 (9-for-26) with three home runs over his last seven games. For the year, Moreno is batting .264 with six home runs, 23 RBI, and four steals in 47 games. He hit a career-high nine home runs last season and posted career-highs in RBI (50) and steals (6) in 2023. Moreno appears poised to take a run at all three of those numbers in 2026.
