Pete Crow-Armstrong hits for cycle in Monday victory

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Mon, Jun 15th 11:51pm EDT

Pete Crow-Armstrong had a perfect night at the plate, hitting for the league's first cycle of the 2026 season, as the Cubs defeated the Rockies, 5-4.

Fantasy Impact:

Crow-Armstrong's cycle was the 13th in franchise history as was the first by a Cub since Carson Kelly accomplished the feat on March 31, 2025. It was the first cycle in the majors since Minnesota's Byron Buxton on July 12, 2025 and it was the 350th cycle in baseball history. Crow-Armstrong accomplished the cycle in rare fashion, doing it in reverse order to become the first player since Rajai Davis in 2016 to perform that trick. Crow-Armstrong started with a solo home run off of Colorado starter Michael Lorenzen to lead off the bottom of the first. It was his 13th blast of the season. He then tripled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh to cap off the cycle. He added a sacrifice fly in the eighth for his second RBI of the night. Crow-Armstrong has hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games and is hitting a ridiculous .436 (24-for-55) with 10 runs scored, four doubles, two triples, six home runs, nine runs batted in, and four steals in 13 games this month. Over his last 19 games, Crow-Armstrong has raised his average from .223 to .277 and his OPS from .674 to .844. He is hands down the hottest hitter in the game right now.
