Jack Flaherty impresses in return from IL Sunday

by Brenton Kemp | Tigers Correspondent | Mon, Jun 29th 9:50am EDT

Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty pitched five scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a no-decision on Sunday against the Astros.

Fantasy Impact:

After a short stint on the injured list, Flaherty was rather dominant against the Astros in his return from a leg injury. The veteran allowed just two hits and three walks while striking out nine across his five innings of work. He was in line for the win before the Astros rallied off of the Tigers bullpen in an eventual 7-5 Astros win in 10 innings. Flaherty now sports a 4.97 ERA through 16 starts, and with the Tigers potentially moving to a six-man rotation upon his return, he lines up to take on the Rangers on the road next Sunday.
