Jonathan Bowlan picks up first career save Monday
by Nate Miller | Phillies Correspondent |
Jonathan Bowlan retired all three batters who came to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning of Monday's 6-5 win over the Cardinals, striking out one and recording his first career save.
Fantasy Impact:
With All-Star closer Jhoan Duran having pitched in both of the previous two days, Bowlan was called on to preserve a one-run lead in the ninth on Monday. The 29-year-old righty impressively made quick work of the Cardinals, earning his first save in 82 career MLB appearances. Bowlan has put together a nice season out of the Philadelphia bullpen, as he sports a 2.74 ERA with 53 strikeouts across 42 2/3 innings.
