Zac Thornton allowed three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven across five innings in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the San Diego Padres.
Fantasy Impact:
Thornton gave up two homers to Fernando Tatis Jr. in this one, which accounted for all three of his earned runs. Outside of those homers, he put together a strong outing, striking out seven, his highest total since also recording seven on June 26. Across four starts in August, the southpaw owns a 3.92 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 20.2 innings. His next scheduled start is on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
