Walker can’t make a commitment to the Celtics until free agency opens, but he will be in Boston in June 30, where he is expected to agree in principle to the deal. He can officially sign the deal on July 6. He’s been linked to Boston in recent rumors, and he’ll be the big signing the Celtics need with Kyrie Irving and Al Horford out the door. Walker’s departure from Charlotte will leave the Hornets at a crossroads and in a likely rebuild.
