Donovan Mitchell shakes off leg injury, nets 35 points in 2OT loss

by Dan Titus | Cavaliers Correspondent | Sun, Aug 9th 4:23am EDT

Donovan Mitchell was impressive in Saturday's double-overtime bout against the Denver Nuggets, dropping 35 points (12-33 FG, 6-7 FT) to go along with eight assists, one steal, one block, five triples, and five turnovers across 47 minutes in a 134-132 defeat.

Fantasy Impact:

The ice was flowing in Mitchell's veins on Saturday as he put the Jazz on his back, tying the game in the fourth quarter to force OT and hitting shot after shot to force a second overtime. The Jazz came up short due to a big shot from Jamal Murray, but it was Mitchell who carried the Jazz late in the game. Mitchell notched his second 30-point game in the bubble, and on the season, he is averaging 24.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.0 steal, and 2.5 three-pointers per game. Mitchell and the Jazz will take on the Mavericks on Monday in what should be a very exciting and fantasy-friendly matchup.
