FanDuel MLB Lineup Advice: Friday (7/28)

We’ve got a full 15-game slate tonight with a few aces and two great value plays that will enable us to fill the rest of our lineup with some more expensive pieces. The cash line tonight for 50/50s should be around 150, so make sure you monitor the lineups and weather so you don’t miss anything. The Colorado @ Washington game will almost certainly end up canceled and we could see a delay in Philadelphia too.

Pitcher

Alex Wood (LAD): $10,000 vs SFG

The Dodgers are -305 favorites tonight. If you don’t know much about betting lines, that is the biggest spread of the season. Not only is Wood a great bet to pick up the win, but the Giants’ lineup has been extremely bad, and as you might imagine, Vegas has them pegged for just 2.72 runs tonight. Wood is in line for quality start and should pile up the Ks.

Rangers Stack

Rougned Odor (TEX): $3,000 vs BAL
Adrian Beltre (TEX): $3,700 vs BAL
Elvis Andrus (TEX): $3,000 vs BAL

Chris Tillman has been a nightmare for Baltimore this season with a 7.01 ERA in 13 starts. He gives up a ton of homers, and tonight in Texas, it will be 99 degrees outside so the ball should fly. Vegas has Texas with 5.80 implied runs scored tonight and we are able to stack their 2, 4 and 6 hitters for fairly cheap. Odor has been hitting the ball much better lately and has substantially better batted ball stats than his mainstream numbers would indicate. Andrus, is a top 20 fantasy player over the last calendar year so this price is flat out robbery. Finally, if you haven’t noticed, Beltre is still one of the best hitters in baseball and he is on fire lately.

Mini-Astros Stack

Brian McCann (HOU): $2,800 @ DET
Josh Reddick (HOU): $3,200 @ DET

With Jordan Zimmerman and his 5.81 ERA opposing the Astros, it would be nice if we had the money to stack all of their best players. I made room for the two lefties who are most likely to knock the ball out of the ballpark tonight. With the wind howling out to right field at 16 MPH, the average fly ball might just be pushed into the bleachers.

Mini-Angels Stack

C.J. Cron (LAA): $2,200 @ TOR
Mike Trout (LAA): $4,900 @ TOR

J.A. Happ is not a bad pitcher by any means, but he does give up more than his fair share of extra-base hits to righties. Over the past three seasons, 47 of the 55 he allowed were to the split. Tonight, Cron and Trout will be batting in the middle of the order, licking their chops against Happ with a big ballpark upgrade also on their side.

Spare Outfielder

Brandon Guyer (CLE): $2,200 @ CHW

Guyer may be struggling so far this season in a limited sample size, but he has always obliterated lefties. Last season, he posted a 1.013 OPS against them compared to just .631 against the right side. Tonight, he doesn’t just draw a lefty, but one in Derek Holland who is terrible against righties. What’s more, is that the Indians are a 5.76 implied team for tonight’s game.
