Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 15

Welcome to the dreaded injury report. Professional football is a violent game, and your fantasy players are going to miss time because of it. Hopefully, you don’t have many names on this list.

Aaron Jones (RB – GB)
The fact that Aaron Jones had been producing so well on one of the worst teams in football was mighty impressive, but his season likely came to a premature end due to a sprained MCL. With the Packers’ season over and MCL sprains typically 2-4 week injuries, it will be the Jamaal Williams show for the final two weeks of the regular season.

Randall Cobb (WR – GB)
After committing an egregious drop and reminding everyone that he was never that good at football, Randall Cobb sustained a concussion, ending his day early. If Cobb can get cleared, he’ll likely play next week, but the Packers are a terrible team and Cobb doesn’t have much fantasy value. It’s Davante Adams or bust on this team.

Keenan Allen (WR – LAC)
Allen suffered an injury early in the team’s Thursday night contest against the Chiefs and wasn’t able to return, leaving fantasy owners with a goose egg. Allen’s status for the remainder of the season isn’t clear at this point, so owners will need to monitor his practice reps this week. In his place, former first-round pick Mike Williams shined against Kansas City and would seem to be a primary beneficiary.

Tyler Boyd (WR – CIN)
Tyler Boyd caught a touchdown on Sunday before exiting with a knee sprain. He was quickly ruled out, which is quite ominous for his chances to play next week, especially on a team playing for nothing. While Jeff Driskel hasn’t been terrible, you don’t need to go chasing Alex Erickson or Cody Core.

Lamar Miller (RB – HOU)
Miller suffered an ankle injury and tried to return but was ultimately ruled out entering the second half of the team’s contest against the Jets. This was a prime spot for the veteran RB, but instead, it was Alfred Blue stepping into the role of lead RB. The Texans have said they don’t believe the injury is significant, but it will be worth monitoring this week as the team prepares for the Eagles.

Matt Breida (RB – SF)
Breida exited with an ankle injury during the last drive of the game. He didn’t return, and it’s not clear what his status will be for Week 16, which is seemingly the case every week. Once again, owners are going to have to closely monitor the team’s practice reports.

Frank Gore (RB – MIA)
87-year-old Frank Gore was carted off with a foot injury. X-rays were negative, but Gore was diagnosed with a foot sprain and looks unlikely to play next week. In his absence, rookie Kalen Ballage played quite well and appeared to be ahead of Kenyan Drake. He might worth a look.

Marcus Murphy (RB – BUF)
Filling in for both LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy also was injured in the Bills’ narrow victory over the Lions when he dislocated his elbow. McCoy and/or Ivory should return next week. You can ignore Murphy.

Todd Gurley (RB – LAR)
Todd Gurley was seen on the sidelines with a wrap around his knee and missed a few snaps, but ultimately returned and looked fine. He may be limited in practice, but Gurley will be out there next week. Justin Davis also was injured, but obviously, there is no need to handcuff Gurley anymore as there is just one week left in the fantasy season for most leagues.
