Q1. Who is your top waiver wire option of the week, and why?

I’ll go with Jalen Reagor. Maybe the bye week came at the right time for Carson Wentz, who’s been in somewhat of a funk this year, though the wide receiver injuries haven’t helped. To know that Travis Fulgham, someone who was on multiple practice squads over the last few years, has been able to be one of fantasy best receivers with Wentz, I believe Reagor has a chance to be special. They targeted him six times in his first game back and even gave him a carry, so they want him involved.
– Mike Tagliere (@MikeTagliereNFL)

He was my top option last week and he’s my top option this week: it’s Jalen Reagor. And the reason is the same – I don’t see any week-winning or league-winning upside for a player available on the wire this week, so I’ll take someone who I feel is a guaranteed starter ROS. With no DeSean Jackson, Reagor should have an extremely reliable role going forward, and with matchups against the Giants, Browns, and Seahawks, there should be plenty of opportunities for him to produce. With another weak crop of waiver-wire pickups, Reagor is my top choice.

There are some pretty good options available on the waiver wire this week for running back, but a few players that still have questions marks surrounding them. With that in mind, I’m going with a player that doesn’t have questions surrounding his role and that’s JD McKissic. McKissic is heavily involved out of the backfield as a receiver and Alex Smith looked his way frequently last week. He’s not a sexy name to pick up, but he can absolutely be plugged in as a low-end RB2 in Full PPR formats every single week moving forward.

Q2. Which notable waiver wire option for Week 10 was the most difficult to rank?

It’s probably Darnell Mooney, who has clearly carved out a big role in the Bears offense, averaging 6.9 targets per game since Week 3, including a career-high 11 targets in Week 9. The downside is that you’re attaching yourself to Nick Foles and the Bears’ offense. There will be some bumps and bruises, but those targets are worth something.
– Mike Tagliere (@MikeTagliereNFL)

Duke Johnson Jr.  As of this writing, we haven’t heard anything about David Johnson‘s concussion. But if David is out, Duke is by far the best running back pickup of the available options. If he’s not, then Duke is probably worth rostering as a high-end handcuff, but not worth starting in any fantasy format. For right now, I’ve prioritized him as my top running back option on the waiver wire because of his potential, but he could easily be fourth or fifth among the position.

Matt Breida is the player that gave me the most difficulty this week. He has the potential to take on a large role in this backfield with Myles Gaskin sidelined, but we have no clarity on his hamstring injury whatsoever. We might not have any more clarity on his situation by the time that waivers run too, which makes him a risky pick up.

Q3. For managers streaming a D/ST in Week 10, what readily available option (under 40%) should they target?

We’ve attacked the Giants in almost every matchup we could with streamers, especially when the Jets’ opponent isn’t available (the Jets aren’t playing in Week 10). The Giants have allowed Daniel Jones to be sacked 28 times through nine games, including three or more times in 6-of-9 games. The Eagles were able to get to him three times in Week 7 and were also able to force three turnovers. The Eagles will be fresh off their bye week, while the Giants just try to make it to theirs in Week 11.
– Mike Tagliere (@MikeTagliereNFL)

It’s not a great week for renting D/STs but I would take a shot on a rested Green Bay defense against the Jaguars. With some tape now out on Jake Luton, there should be opportunities to put up points for the D/ST in Lambeau Field, particularly with Luton needing to throw early and often. It’s not the most sure-fire option, but it’s a fairly safe one that’s widely available.
– Dan Harris (@danharris80)

The Green Bay Packers get to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in week ten. Assuming that Gardner Minshew is still sidelined, Jake Luton will get the start and the Packers have a great chance of forcing a couple of turnovers. They’ll most likely be a top-10 option in my DST rankings this week.

Q4. Which Week 10 waiver wire option carries the biggest risk of being a waste of FAAB dollars?

It’s got to be Ballage, right? If Justin Jackson isn’t seriously injured (appears to be the case), Ballage would fall back into a three-way timeshare. Unfortunately, they also won’t play the Raiders poor run defense every week.
– Mike Tagliere (@MikeTagliereNFL)

Jordan Wilkins. I just do not foresee Wilkins getting the lead role in Indianapolis, and I think had Jonathan Taylor not fumbled, Taylor would have dominated the touches. Wilkins has been in the league for a few years and there’s a reason he’s never been the featured back. The best way for the Colts offense to work is by having Taylor wear down defenses and lean on their defense, and I think they will try to do more of that going forward. With that said, given Taylor’s failings lately and the favorable schedule, Wilkins has to be picked up, and is at worst an excellent handcuff. But there’s a lot of excited about Wilkins this week and I think fantasy managers need to keep their excitement in check.
– Dan Harris (@danharris80)

As mentioned above, Breida is an extremely difficult projection for me. If he can bounce back in time for next week’s game, he should be a solid start for a RB needy team, but we simply have no clarity yet on what his injury status is after missing Sunday’s contest.
