- Tarik Skubal is fine on DraftKings, but he is too cheap on FanDuel. There are two other pitchers (Max Fried and Jesus Luzardo) who are more expensive than Skubal. While those two are fine options, there is no reason not to take any discount with Skubal. His strikeout rate is a bit lower than we’re used to, but it is still 26%.
- Jeffrey Springs has had two starts on the road this season. In those two games, he has pitched 11 innings with 13 strikeouts and only a 2.45 ERA. Today, he is on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers have a bottom-five OPS against left-handed pitchers (.592).
- It isn’t the best day for cheaper starting pitcher options. With that in mind, if you’re looking to go cheap at the position, consider Logan Henderson. He’s a true mystery box, as we have never seen him pitch at the Major League level. Last season at Triple-A, he struck out nearly 33% of batters. It was a minuscule sample size, but that mark was above 40% when he was recalled to make this start.

- The Arizona Diamondbacks have the second-most runs scored in baseball in 2025. Today, they take on the team that is leading in that category, the Chicago Cubs, and their starting pitcher, Jameson Taillon.
- A good starting point for your lineup is Eugenio Suarez. He has struggled to hit for average this season, but has nine extra-base hits, including six home runs. He also has had previous success against Taillon with seven extra-base hits, including five home runs in 34 at-bats.
- An option that keeps slowly climbing in price is Pavin Smith. While he is 2-for-2 in his career against Taillon, it’s the total of what he has been doing this season that makes him an option. He is currently in the top 10 percentiles in expected slugging, barrel rate and launch angle sweet spot.
- One of the cheaper Diamondbacks is Lourdes Gurriel Jr. After a slow start, he has hits in three of his last four games, including home runs in two of them.

- While it isn’t a big track record, many of the Braves’ stars have had success against Joe Ryan.
- So far, Ryan has been able to limit the home runs, which has been his undoing in the past. It’s not that he is giving up fewer fly balls. His 52.7% fly ball rate is higher than it has been in the past two seasons.
- Ryan has only opposed most of the Braves’ hitters one time in his career. Yet, three of them hit home runs off of him. Those three are Austin Riley, Michael Harris and Sean Murphy. Ozzie Albies didn’t hit a home run, but he hit a triple off him.
- The only batter in the Braves lineup with more than one game against Ryan is Alex Verdugo. He is reasonably priced and has batted leadoff in the previous few games for the Braves. He also has a home run off of Ryan in his career.

Core Studs
- Yes, Salvador Perez is taking on Tarik Skubal. Perez is one of the rare batters who has had success against Skubal — 11-for-30 with two doubles and four home runs.
- After a blistering start, Kyle Manzardo has cooled considerably. Mitch Keller may be the remedy to turn that around. Manzardo has nine home runs in his big league career, and two of them have come off Keller.
- Michael Busch is the classic case of riding the hot hand. He has hits in six of his last seven games, including home runs in four different games. Today, he takes on Merrill Kelly, who has struggled this season with nearly an expected ERA of 6.00.
Value Plays/Punts
- It has been a while since Marcus Semien could be included in the value plays list. A 10-for-71 start with only one home run has made his cost much more affordable. He continues to bat leadoff for the Rangers and has four extra-base hits off Tyler Glasnow in his career.
- Max Muncy is another player who is not usually this reasonably priced. Similar to Semien, he finds himself off to a slower start than usual. Today, he takes on Tyler Mahle. Muncy is 5-for-13 against Mahle in his career.
- The pricing continues not to have caught up to Austin Hays. He has batted cleanup the last five games for the Reds. Hays has hits in every game since returning from the injured list (IL). His price is slowly climbing, but it has to rise more to not make him a value play.

Sunday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Charlie Morton matches up with the Cincinnati Reds today. He has exceeded this number in three of his four starts. Going back to the start of last July, he has allowed more than 4.5 hits in 16 of his last 19 starts. Meanwhile, the Reds have exceeded 4.5 hits in their last six games and have had double-digit hits in their last three games.
Clay Holmes is still acclimating to being a starting pitcher. He has still found a way to clear this mark in his last three starts, even though he is pitching five innings on average. In his last three starts, he is averaging eight strikeouts. Today, he takes on the St. Louis Cardinals, who happen to average just over eight strikeouts per game.
Bryce Harper is one of the best hitters of our generation. He has cleared this number in five consecutive games. Today, he opposes Connor Gillispie, who has made his first four career starts this season. He is averaging nine hits allowed per game. In his last game, he was allowed to go 95 pitches, but gave up eight earned runs in the process.
