Dynasty Trade Advice: 10 Players to Sell (2025 Fantasy Football)

Now that rookie drafts have ended and eyes are turning to training camps, dynasty managers should also be looking at how to tweak their rosters. Personally, when I look to make a trade, I start with my roster and see what players are ranked higher in dynasty expert consensus rankings (ECR) than I think they should be. These rankings are a way to see who the market might like more than me, and a good starting point for building a trade. Here are 10 players I’m selling if I can, grouped by their approximate value. If you want to make a big trade, you need a big asset to sell. Let’s dive into some dynasty trade advice!

Dynasty Trade Advice: Players to Sell

Top of the Crop

Jayden Daniels (QB – WSH)

Everyone and their mother seems to be infatuated with Jayden Daniels in dynasty. I’ve seen him go first overall in some Superflex startup drafts, which seems crazy to me. He’s got terrific upside, but even his ECR of QB3 feels risky. I’d rather tier down to a more stable player like Joe Burrow or Jalen Hurts and get a pick or bench player as a flier. Take the value if you can and move on from Daniels before the hype wears off.

De’Von Achane (RB – MIA)

I’ve been talking about De’Von Achane as a sell candidate for what feels like a year now. The Dolphins’ offense could be terrible this year, which won’t help Achane’s value. Not only that, but running backs tend to see a steeper decline sooner rather than later. I’d gladly pivot off of him if I can get his full RB5 dynasty value. Tiering down to another ascending asset is a no-brainer, but you might have to sweet-talk your trade partner into agreeing.

Puka Nacua (WR – LAR)

The shine on Puka Nacua has faded a little, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe it’s the fact that there’s not much competition behind him, meaning he should see a lot of double teams. Maybe it’s because of his aging quarterback in Matt Stafford. Or maybe it’s just that I’ve seen a lot of great players become good ones in the blink of an eye. Either way, Nacua’s WR5 ECR feels like a good place to get out. I just don’t see him getting much better given who’s currently ranked ahead of him.

Mid-Range Studs

Patrick Mahomes (QB – KC)

The name amongst names in fantasy leagues for years is officially out of the top tier at quarterback. Patrick Mahomes’ name value alone is all he has going for him at this point. He’s fun to watch, but his antics on the field don’t translate to fantasy points. Mahomes’ current ECR of QB6 shows the community still likes him, but they don’t love him. If you can get out now and pivot to a younger or more mobile quarterback, you might be better off in the long run. Use our trade analyzer to see what you can get for him.

Jonathan Taylor (RB – IND)

I feel like Jonathan Taylor has flown under the radar for a couple of years now. I remember writing about him as a sell candidate after the 2021 season when he was in the top tier among backs. Now that he’s a little cheaper, RB8 in dynasty ECR, the message is still the same. If you can get full value for him, now might be the best time to do that. Running backs fall off a cliff eventually, and it’s best to be ahead of the curve if at all possible. If you’re not contending, Taylor has no right being on your roster. If you are contending, consider tiering down for similar production plus a bench asset.

Travis Hunter (WR, CB – JAX)

Travis Hunter is uncharted territory for fantasy managers. If he plays more defense than offense, then his current ECR of WR17 is insane. There’s no way he returns that value. On the other hand, even if he only plays receiver, WR17 is still insane. Rookie receivers are always a crapshoot, but adding in the wrinkle of playing both ways worries me. Rookie fever is likely still in effect, so maybe you can move him now before your league mates see him on the sideline at training camp and his value takes a tumble.

Mark Andrews (TE – BAL)

It feels weird to call Mark Andrews a mid-range stud, but here we are. His dynasty ECR of TE8 feels right given his recent results, but he’s trending in the wrong direction. If you can get off of him and tier up at the same time, I think that’s the move. Tight ends can last longer on dynasty rosters, but Andrews turns 30 before the Ravens’ first game. For many, seeing that three versus two can lower a player’s value alone. Luckily, you still have a couple of months until then, so send some offers now.

Discount Bin Leftovers

Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)

No one knows what to expect out of Justin Fields in New York this year. He could be a top-10 asset at the position, or he could be a roster clogger by Week 10. Either way, I’m fine selling him now on the upside surrounding him. His ECR of QB23 means he’s only got significant value in Superflex leagues, but if I can trade him for a pair of quarterbacks on the rise or a future pick, I’m probably doing that regardless of how ready my team is to win this year.

George Pickens (WR – DAL)

The Cowboys have been looking for a No. 2 WR behind CeeDee Lamb for years and hope they finally have their guy in George Pickens. He finished as WR42 in PPR last year in Pittsburgh with some questionable quarterback play. His ECR of WR31 seems a little too hopeful for my liking, with similar questions at quarterback in Dallas. Can he step up in a new uniform, or will he crumble under the pressure? I’m fine getting out before we know. There are plenty of wide receivers I like ranked behind him that I’d rather take the same amount of risk on.

Travis Kelce (TE – KC)

Last but not least is another big name for fantasy in Travis Kelce. His current ECR of TE14 seems like the last chance to get any value at all for him before he retires. I know a few people who have already resigned themself to that outcome, but if you can separate the production from the name, it might be time to move on while you still can. There are a few tight ends ranked behind him that I’ve had my eye on. Maybe you can find one or two to target if you don’t need the points (or the name) in your lineup this year.
