Smash Spots
Spencer Strider (SP – ATL) vs. COL
Spencer Strider has been disappointing since returning from injury, putting up a 5.68 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 23.2% strikeout rate and 9.8% walk rate in 19 innings.
But there’s nothing like a matchup at home against the Rockies to get you in a rhythm. Colorado ranks 30th in wRC+ on the road this season.
Tanner Bibee (SP – CLE) @ SEA
Tanner Bibee has gotten back on track lately, putting up 21 strikeouts in only 18.1 innings, which is encouraging because he’s starting to miss bats at a higher rate once again.
This is a good spot on the road against the Mariners in the most pitcher-friendly environment in baseball, T-Mobile Park. Look for Bibee to put together a quality outing with a high strikeout upside here.
Jack Flaherty (SP – DET) vs. CIN
Jack Flaherty has an impressive 28.8% strikeout rate on the season, so there’s a good chance he’ll be able to rack up punchouts in a home start against the Reds.
Cincinnati has registered a 23.5% strikeout rate against righties this year, which is the fourth-highest in MLB.
Risky Starts
Kevin Gausman (SP – TOR) @ PHI
Kevin Gausman has allowed one run or fewer in three of his last six starts. This stretch includes a high strikeout upside, featuring nine punchouts against the Padres on May 21st.
But this is a tough matchup on the road against the Phillies, who have put up a 19.4% strikeout rate versus righties, which ranks fifth in MLB.
Bryan Woo (SP – SEA) @ ARI
Bryan Woo has pitched like an ace for the Mariners, but I suggest tempering expectations in a difficult matchup on the road against the Diamondbacks.
Arizona has a 16.6% strikeout rate at home, which ranks first in MLB. The Diamondbacks are also seventh in wRC+ at Chase Field, so this could be a tough outing for Woo.
Logan Webb (SP – SF) @ LAD
Logan Webb has bumped his strikeout rate from 20.5% to 27.5% this season, but this is a challenging matchup on the road against a stacked Dodgers lineup.
Los Angeles has been even better at home, where they have posted a 144 wRC+, which ranks first in the league.

Two-Start Pitchers
Matthew Boyd (SP – CHC) @ PHI, vs. PIT
Matthew Boyd has been a nice surprise for the Cubs, posting a 3.01 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 16 walks and 70 strikeouts in 68.2 innings.
The veteran lefty has a tough first start against the Phillies before an exploitable matchup at home against the Pirates.
Andrew Abbott (SP – CIN) @ CLE, @ DET
Andrew Abbott has been terrific for the Reds, allowing one run or fewer in six of his last seven starts, although it’s worth noting he gave up five in his most recent outing.
With that said, we can fire up Abbott for a two-step against a Guardians lineup that struggles versus lefties and at a pitcher’s park against the Tigers in Comerica.
Mitch Keller (SP – PIT) vs. MIA, @ CHC
Mitch Keller has been much better at home, allowing two runs or fewer in four of his last six outings at PNC Park.
I love Keller’s first matchup against the Marlins at home. Hopefully, he gets the wind blowing in at Wrigley to help him out against the Cubs.
Top Streamers
Zebby Matthews (SP – MIN) vs. TEX, @ HOU
Zebby Matthews has a 5.21 ERA so far, but also a highly impressive 30.1% strikeout rate, so make sure to pick him up off the waiver wire if he was dropped in your league.
The Twins righty has a two-start week starting with a good matchup against a struggling Rangers lineup, followed by a tougher spot against the Astros, who hit much better at home.
Mike Burrows (SP – PIT) vs. MIA, @ CHC
Mike Burrows is coming off his best start of the season, where he tossed 5.1 scoreless innings with zero walks and six strikeouts against the Astros.
Next week starts with a great matchup at home against the Marlins, followed by a tougher spot on the road at Wrigley Field.
Jack Leiter (SP – TEX) @ MIN, vs. CWS
Jack Leiter is starting to turn the corner, allowing two runs or fewer in three of his last four starts.
While his two-start week starts with a tough matchup on the road against the Twins, he’s got a smash spot at home versus the White Sox after that.
