Closer News & Notes
Carlos Estevez maintains his lead in baseball with 39 saves. That includes three saves so far in September.
The Mariners’ bullpen entered Friday winning six straight games. In that span, the bullpen had not allowed an earned run over 29.1 innings. They continue to be led by Andres Munoz and Matt Brash in the back of the bullpen.
Daniel Palencia was placed on the 15-day injured list (IL) with a right shoulder strain earlier this week. It has been Andrew Kittredge as the primary closer in his place, with Brad Keller also seeing high-leverage appearances behind him.
Kyle Finnegan was placed on the 15-day IL with a right adductor strain. Will Vest has taken over his primary closer role in the Tigers’ bullpen.
