Smash Spots
Chris Sale (SP – ATL) vs. SDP
Chris Sale should put forth a quality outing with at least six innings and a great chance at a win against an underwhelming Padres offense. Sale remains one of the best pitchers in the National League, even at his age.
Eury Perez (SP – MIA) vs. SDP
Eury Perez has turned his season around since returning from injury, with the Brewers being the latest team he has dominated. Expect another good outing against the Padres.
Shane Drohan (SP – MIL) vs. COL
Shane Drohan looks like a terrific streamer at home against a punchless Rockies offense. Bet on at least five innings with five or six strikeouts and a terrific chance at a win.
Risky Starts
Nolan McLean (SP – NYM) vs. LAD
We just saw Nolan McLean dominate the Phillies on the road, demonstrating that he’s hard to bench, even in tough matchups, like the upcoming one versus the Dodgers.
Zack Wheeler (SP – PHI) vs. LAD
The same goes for Zack Wheeler, who is having an outstanding resurgent season. Fire him up versus the Dodgers, but there are still some concerns.
Jesus Luzardo (SP – PHI) vs. NYY
Another Phillies ace. There’s some risk against the Yankees, but at least they don’t have Aaron Judge in their lineup right now.
Two-Start Pitchers
Kyle Leahy (SP – STL) @ LAA, vs. CIN
Kyle Leahy has allowed a combined one earned run in his last four outings. He looks like a sneaky streamer with the two-start week ahead. These are exploitable matchups versus the Angels and the Reds.
Tyler Mahle (SP – SFG) @ KCR, vs. ATH
Tyler Mahle is coming off a quality start, making him worth a look in a two-start week against the Royals and the Athletics. There’s a good chance he can get a win or two against struggling opponents.
Janson Junk (SP – MIA) @ HOU, vs. SDP
Janson Junk is an underrated arm pitching for the red-hot Marlins. I’d fire him up with the hopes of getting at least one win in these two matchups.
