Austin Slater steals seventh base of the season on Wednesday

by Jon Mathisen | Giants Correspondent | Wed, May 19th 11:02pm EDT

Outfielder Austin Slater went 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in the Giants' 4-0 win over the Reds on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Slater started in center field and led off on Wednesday for the Giants. He was on base for Buster Posey's bases-clearing double in the ninth inning but did little else besides swiping his seventh bag of the year. His stolen base upside is the only thing he has going for him at the moment. After Wednesday's action, the 28-year-old is slashing just .217/.314/.368 with four home runs, 12 RBI, and a 40:15 K/BB ratio over 106 at-bats. He could be a useful player in fantasy leagues if he could cut down on the strikeouts.
