Jameson Taillon fires six solid innings in win Saturday

by Luke Monaldo | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Jul 17th 8:12am EDT

Jameson Taillon pitched six innings, allowing one run on two hits and no walks while striking out five in New York’s 14-1 win over Boston on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Taillon ended the first half on a good note, turning in his first quality start since June 2. Taillon had allowed 27 runs over his last 35 2/3 innings (6.81 ERA) during that time but managed a 3-1 record thanks to New York’s offense. Taillon picked up his 10th victory of the year and improves to 10-2. Taillon reached 10-wins for the second time in his career and first since winning a career high 14 games with the Pirates in 2018. It was also the eighth time in 18 starts that Taillon didn’t walk a single batter. Taillon’s next start will come after the break against either the Orioles or the Mets.
