Reese Olson (shoulder), who missed the last half of the 2025 season with a shoulder issue, may not be ready for opening day, according to Evan Petzold's "Days of Roar" podcast. (Evan Petzold on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Olson started a throwing program in December after receiving a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in August that caused him to miss the last couple months of the 2025 season. According to reports, he is progressing, but may not be ready for opening day. Primarily due to injuries, the 26-year-old righty has not pitched more than 112.1 innings in a season at the big league level. When on the mound, Olson has pitched to a 3.60 ERA in 284.2 innings across three seasons with the Tigers. Fortunately for Detroit, the Tigers have a deep rotation and they have a number of options (Keider Montero, Troy Melton, Sawyer Gipson-Long) who can fill in until Olson is ready.
