Shota Imanaga suffers loss in season debut Sunday
by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Mar 29th 11:13pm EDT
Shota Imanaga took the loss on Sunday after allowing four runs on six hits in five innings against the Nationals. The lefthander walked two and struck out seven.
Fantasy Impact:
Imanaga pitched better than his line suggests as he settled down after a rough first inning. After recording the first two outs in the opening frame, Imanaga allowed back-to-back singles and then a three-run home run to Joey Wiemer to spot the Nationals a 3-0 lead. He only allowed a run on three hits over his final four innings of work. Imanaga pitched to a 3.73 ERA in 25 starts last season with the Cubs and has a career 3.28 ERA in two seasons in Chicago. He is tentatively scheduled to pitch again next weekend in Cleveland.
