Steven Matz allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings in Friday's 5-3 win over the New York Yankees.
Fantasy Impact:
Matz ran into trouble in the first inning, allowing a single, a walk and a triple that led to two earned runs, but he settled in nicely with four scoreless innings to follow. He has been sharp since giving up four earned runs in his season debut against the St. Louis Cardinals, allowing just three earned runs while striking out 15 over 11 innings across two starts in April. He will look to deliver another solid outing in his next scheduled start on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox.
