Brandon Lowe goes deep twice, including grand slam, in Sunday loss

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Mon, Apr 13th 12:50am EDT

Brandon Lowe went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, including a grand slam in the top of the second. However, the Pirates went on to suffer a 7-6 loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Lowe finished the day with a season-high five runs batted in with his grand slam giving the Pirates a 5-0 lead against Cubs' starter, Jameson Taillon. He would later cap off the Pirates' scoring with a solo shot off of Taillon in the fifth. It was Lowe's second multi-homer game of the season and he's off to a good start in his first year with the Pirates. The second baseman is batting .245 (12-for-49) with five home runs and nine runs batted in through 13 games. However, he's just 6-for-31 (.194) with 10 strikeouts in April.
