Mitch Keller picks up second win of season Sunday
by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sun, Apr 19th 9:26pm EDT
Mitch Keller tossed seven innings on Sunday and allowed two runs on five hits in a 6-3 victory over the Rays. He did not walk a batter and struck out five in the win.
Fantasy Impact:
Keller rebounded nicely after his worst start of the season his last time out against the Nationals, going seven strong on Sunday to improve to 2-1 on the year. He was in complete control until a hiccup in the fifth when he allowed a double and back-to-back singles to three consecutive hitters - all with two outs - as the Rays took a 2-1 lead. The Pirates, however, responded with three runs in the bottom half to put Keller back in line for the win. The righthander will take a 2.79 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP into his next scheduled start in Milwaukee on Saturday.
