Colin Rea wins third straight decision Monday against Phillies

Colin Rea improved to 3-0 on the season after allowing one run on six hits in 6.2 innings on Monday in a 5-1 win over the reeling Phillies. Rea walked two and struck out five.

Fantasy Impact:

Rea had his longest outing of the season on Monday as he went 6.2 innings, throwing a season-high 92 pitches. His only hiccup came in the fourth on an RBI double from Justin Crawford to plate the only run of the game for the Phillies. The righthander's biggest moment came two innings earlier when he struck out Rafael Marchan with the bases loaded to keep the Phillies off the scoreboard. Rea has made two starts this season and is 2-0 while allowing just two runs in 11.2 innings. Overall, in five appearances, Rea is 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, and a 16:5 K:BB ratio in 21 innings. Matthew Boyd (bicep) is expected back in the rotation on Wednesday, but Rea has made, arguably, a stronger case than Javier Assad to remain in the rotation as the replacement for Cade Horton (elbow), who is out for the rest of the season. Should Rea get another start, he's lined up to face the Dodgers on Saturday.
