Victor Vodnik earns save in game one of Sunday twinbill
by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Mon, Apr 27th 12:39am EDT
Victor Vodnik pitched a perfect ninth inning with a pair of strikeouts to earn his fourth save of the season in game one of a doubleheader against the Mets.
Fantasy Impact:
Vodnik, who allowed five runs in two-thirds of an inning his last time out, pitched a 1-2-3 ninth in game one to preserve a 3-1 win for the Rockies. In 11 appearances this season, that was Vodnik's first perfect outing. The righthander has a 6.94 ERA and a 1.97 WHIP in 11.2 innings this season. He appears to still be the Colorado closer, but his hold on the job is tenuous at best.
