Jose Quintana picks up first win of season Sunday
by David Leisering | Rockies Correspondent | Mon, Apr 27th 12:35am EDT
Jose Quintana went 5.1 innings in game one of a doubleheader with the Mets on Sunday. The lefthander allowed one run on two hits, walked two, and struck out five in the Rockies' 3-1 victory in game one.
Fantasy Impact:
Quintana easily had his best start of the season on Sunday, allowing a season-low one run while going a season-long 5.1 innings. He also struck out five on the day after entering with just four strikeouts through his first three starts. The only blemish on his line was a solo home run by Tyrone Taylor in the fifth. Quintana is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA but still has a 9:11 K:BB ratio through 18.1 innings. He's scheduled to pitch again in a tough home matchup against the Braves on Friday.
