Eduardo Rodriguez pitches into ninth in win Sunday

by David Leisering | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Mon, May 11th 8:19am EDT

Eduardo Rodriguez tossed 8.1 innings on Sunday and allowed a run on four hits, walked three, and struck out four to lead the Diamondbacks to a 5-1 victory over the Mets.

Fantasy Impact:

Rodriguez was two outs shy of becoming just the third pitcher this season to throw a complete game, something only Miami's Sandy Alcantara and Seattle's George Kirby have accomplished to date. Regardless, it was another brilliant outing for the veteran lefthander, who improved to 4-0 on the season. Rodriguez has won both of his starts in May, allowing only one run on six hits in 15.1 innings during the month. Overall, he is 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP in eight starts this season. Still available in nearly three quarters of leagues, the sample size is large enough this season that you can put the veteran back on the fantasy radar. He'll take on the Rockies, in Colorado, on Saturday.
