Daniel Palencia resumed a throwing program on Monday (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Palencia was placed on the 15-day injured list June 16 after an MRI revealed a mild right flexor strain. He was shut down from throwing during the Chicago Cubs' road trip but resumed a throwing program on Monday. Cubs manager Craig Counsell confirmed that Palencia will not be activated until after the All-Star break. With him sidelined, the Cubs are expected to continue using a closer-by-committee approach.
