Former Los Angeles Times writer, Mike DiGiovanna reported that sources have told him Yusei Kikuchi (shoulder) is “gonna be out for several months, if not the whole season.”
Fantasy Impact: Kikuchi was placed on the injured list last week with shoulder inflammation. There will be an official update provided on a timetable to return when available.

Fantasy Impact: Amaya has 37 games of minor league experience at first base, but has only seen two games at Double-A at the position over the last four years. The Cubs are seemingly planning to carry three catchers and, with Michael Busch as the only healthy first baseman, at bats could be had for Amaya at both positions. Amaya could see some starts at first against lefties if all goes well during the spring.

The 29-year-old hit .327 with 15 homers in an injury-shortened 69 games with Tokyo of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball a season ago.
