Matt Harvey allowed six runs and five walks in just four and 1/3 innings pitched on Thursday in the Mets' 7-5 loss to the Braves. Harvey, who had been pitching well on the season coming into the contest, struggled to break 93 mph on his fastball and had location issues all afternoon.

Jeurys Familia worked the top of the ninth inning (a non-save situation) in the Mets' 6-4 loss to the Phillies on Thursday night, marking his first appearance of 2017 following a 15-game suspension to start the season. Familia struggled with his control in his one inning of work, walking two batters, but he allowed no hits and also struck out two.

Noah Syndergaard pitched seven solid innings against the Phillies on Thursday night, despite picking up his first loss of the season. The Mets fell to the Phillies 6-4, but Syndergaard continued his early season dominance striking out 10 and allowing only seven hits and three earned runs (five runs total) in his seven innings of work.

Robert Gsellman allowed eight earned runs over just 4 2/3 innings in the Mets' 9-8 16 inning marathon win over the Marlins on Thursday night. Gsellman struck out five, but also walked three and allowed eight hits. Gsellman, fortunately, ended up with a no decision as the Mets tied the game after he departed.

Filling in as Mets' closer while Jeurys Familia serves a 15-game suspension for domestic abuse, Addison Reed worked a perfect ninth inning on Sunday to preserve the Mets' 5-2 win over the Marlins. Reed struck out two in his one inning of work, picking up his first save of the season.

Noah Syndergaard showed no ill effects from a blister issue he suffered on Opening Day in the Mets' 5-2 win over the Marlins on Sunday. Thor worked seven dominant innings allowing just five hits and one earned run, while striking out nine. After two starts, Syndergaard is 1-0 on the season with a ridiculous 0.69 ERA.

Fri, Apr 7th 11:20am EDT |

Matt Harvey pitched 6 2/3 solid innings in his 2017 debut against the Braves on Thursday night as the Mets won 6-2. Harvey, coming off of surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome last July, looked like the Mets' ace of old limiting the Braves to just three hits, no walks and four strikeouts. Two of the three hits off of Harvey were long solo home runs by Matt Kemp, the other was a swinging bunt single by Nick Markakis.

Jacob deGrom worked six solid, scoreless innings against the Braves on Wednesday night in his first 2017 start. deGrom allowed only two hits and one walk, while striking out six. deGrom left with the Mets ahead 1-0, a lead the Mets' pen would ultimately give up. The Mets went on to lose 3-1 in 12 innings.

Robert Gsellman worked a scoreless ninth inning against the Braves on Monday in the Mets' 6-0 Opening Day victory. In his one inning of work, Gsellman allowed two hits and struck out one preserving the Mets' win.

Noah Syndergaard pitched six scoreless, dominant innings on Opening Day in the Mets' 6-0 win over Atlanta Monday afternoon. It was reported this morning that Steven Matz's MRI on his elbow has come back clean, which is obviously good news for Matz, the Mets and fantasy owners who own Matz shares. That said, Matz will be shut down for three weeks and open the 2017 campaign on the DL. It is likely Matz will miss all of April, which impacts his fantasy value in seasonal leagues, as fantasy drafts wind down over this weekend.

Zack Wheeler will open the season as the Mets' fourth starter and will face the Marlins in the opening week of the 2017 season. With Steven Matz slated to begin the season on the DL, Wheeler won the fourth starting job over Seth Lugo based on his spring performance and the fact that Lugo is better geared for a bullpen role over Wheeler.
