Jacob deGrom once again dominant and then let-down by Mets’ bullpen
Jacob deGrom went seven dominant innings against the Braves on Saturday, striking out 10 and allowing only four hits and two walks. deGrom was in-line to win this one after the Mets scored three runs in the top of the eighth, but the Mets’ bullpen, led by an ineffective and wild AJ Ramos, coughed up two in the eighth and ultimately blew the game in the ninth inning when Jeurys Familia blew the save and lost the game as the Mets fell 4-3.
Jeurys Familia blows save in brutal Mets’ loss to Atlanta
Jeurys Familia, called on to convert a four-out save against the Braves on Saturday, was only able to get one out before blowing the save in the ninth inning and ultimately taking the loss in the Mets’ 4-3 defeat. In 2/3 of inning, Familia struck out two, but allowed a costly leadoff walk in the ninth, a triple and a walk-off drag bunt RBI single to Ender Inciarte.
Matt Harvey shellacked by Braves in Mets’ loss
Matt Harvey allowed six earned runs and eight hits in six innings of work in the Mets’ 12-4 loss to the Braves on Thursday. He walked one and struck out four as his record fell to 0-2 on the season, and his ERA ballooned to 6.00 and WHIP rose to 1.43. Following the game, the Mets’ Mickey Callaway was non-committal as to whether Harvey would remain in the rotation going forward.
Jeurys Familia with first blown save of season in colossal bullpen meltdown
The sea was angry that day my friends...as the Mets’ bullpen blew a five run lead in the top of the eighth inning Monday night en route to a horrific 8-6 loss to the Nationals. Punctuating the loss was Jeurys Familia yielding three runs (none of which were charged to him) when he entered the game with two outs, the bases loaded and the Mets ahead 6-4. Familia promptly allowed a game tying two-run single, then hit a batter and then walked in a go-ahead run before getting the last out of a six run eighth inning.
Jacob deGrom dominates Nationals before Mets’ pen blows game
Jacob deGrom dominated the Nationals for 7 1/3 innings before the Mets’ bullpen suffered a complete meltdown in the Mets’ 8-6 loss on Monday. deGrom struck out 12 and allowed only six hits and one walk during his start on Monday. While he was charged with three earned runs, two of those runs scored after he departed in the eighth inning courtesy of Seth Lugo and Jerry Blevins. deGrom did not factor into the decision on Monday.
A.J. Ramos converts save in latest win for surging Mets
With Jeurys Familia unavailable on Wednesday night, A.J. Ramos stepped up to record the final two outs of the Mets’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins. Ramos yielded one walk in his 2/3 innings of work, recording his first save of the season and 100th of his career.

Noah Syndergaard picks up second win of season
Noah Syndergaard picked up his second win of the season in the Mets’ 4-2 win over Miami on Monday. Syndergaard posted a quality start, going six innings allowing just one earned run, five hits and two walks, while striking out five. Despite a slightly inflated 3.94 ERA on the young season, he holds a 1.19 WHIP and remains a top-tier SP option in all formats.
Jeurys Familia with fifth save of young season on Monday
Jeurys Familia became the first pitcher in Mets’ franchise history to record a save in five of the Mets’ first nine games on Monday. He worked one inning allowing two hits while striking out the side to preserve the Mets’ 4-2 win over the Marlins.
