Alexander Edler and his Canucks teammates were unable to put up any offence against the Edmonton Oilers Thursday night, losing by a final of 3-0.

Fantasy Impact: This now marks four straight losses for the Canucks, who are falling further and further from a playoff spot. Edler's play certainly hasn't helped, as the usually reliable Swedish defenceman has just four assists on the year.

Thatcher Demko allowed two goals on 33 shots in Thursday night's 3-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Fantasy Impact: Despite the loss, Demko was outstanding in this one. He stopped four breakaways, including three in the first period in what could have been an Oilers blowout. Instead, he gave his team a chance to win, but they were unable to solve Mike Smith at the other end. With the loss, Demko's record falls to 4-9-1.

Jordie Benn was able to record an assist on a Elias Pettersson goal in Tuesday night's tilt versus the Edmonton Oilers.

Fantasy Impact: With the assist, Benn now has three points in his last four outings. The 33-year-old defenceman who registered just seven points last season is already up to six this year. While it isn't likely to continue, he is on a bit of a hot streak right now.

Elias Pettersson scored a goal and added a helper in Tuesday night's 4-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Fantasy Impact: While it was a frustrating night for the Canucks as a whole, it was an exciting one for fantasy owners of Pettersson, who recorded his second straight multi-point outing. After a slow start to the season, the 22-year-old appears to be heating up and now has 18 points in 23 games.

Brandon Sutter was able to score in Sunday night's 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Despite the Canucks as a whole struggling thus far in the 2020-21 season, Sutter has actually gotten off to quite an impressive start. After scoring just eight goals in 44 games last season, he is already up to six this year in just 22 contests.

Braden Holtby allowed four goals on 31 shots in Sunday night's loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Many were hoping Holtby would be able to build off of his previous start in which he stopped 35 of 36 shots, but that was not the case. It has been a very rough first season in Vancouver for Holtby, as he sees his record drop to 4-6-0 while owning a cringeworthy 3.41 GAA and a .896 SV%.

J.T. Miller registered a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Despite having just four goals on the season, Miller has still been quite productive with 16 points in just 17 games played. He should continue to put up point per game numbers throughout the rest of the season.

Brock Boeser scored a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames.

Fantasy Impact: The great season continues for Boeser, who now has 12 goals and 21 points in 20 games played. This is quite the bounce back year for the 23-year-old who managed just 16 goals all of last season. He will look to keep it going Friday night against the Winnipeg Jets.

Tyler Myers registered two assists in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames.

Fantasy Impact: Myers' first point came on the Canucks opening goal, which was scored by Tanner Pearson on the power play. His second came on a Brock Boeser goal to tie the game up in the third period with under 30 seconds remaining. Myers now has nine points on the season.

Loui Eriksson registered his first point of the season in Vancouver's 3-1 win over the Flames on Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: Eriksson was able to record an assist on Brandon Sutter's empty net goal to secure the victory. It was just his second game of the season, as the 35-year-old has struggled to find his way into the lineup. Despite the solid performance, he should not be on anyone's fantasy radar.

Quinn Hughes scored his second goal of the season in Saturday nights 3-1 victory against the Flames.

Fantasy Impact: It has been an outstanding start to the season offensively for Hughes, who leads all NHL defencemen in scoring with 18 points. While his plus/minus has left plenty to be desired early on, his point totals more than make up for it.

Jacob Markstrom stopped 38-of-42 shots during the Canucks 4-0 loss to Boston. It was Vancouver's first loss in regulation in their last seven games (5-1-1).

Fantasy Impact: In 37 games played, Markstrom is 20-14-3 with a 2.74 GAA and a .917 save percentage. He is now 3-2 in his last five starts with 13 goals allowed.

Bo Horvat scored an empty net goal at 19:59 in the third period to seal the Canucks 3-1 win versus the Blues. Horvat also had five shots on goal and was a plus-one with two blocks in 17:46 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: Even empty net goals count in fantasy hockey and owners of Horvat were happy to see him score his fourth goal in his last five games played. This season Horvat has 17 goals and 26 assists in 50 games played.

Anders Nilsson allowed four goals on 36 shots as the Canucks fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact: To be blunt, Nilsson stinks right now. He hasn't won since October 16th. Nilsson is 6'6", has good hockey smarts and has demonstrated impressive athleticism in previous stints. It just hasn't come together for him this season —neither has any fantasy relevance.

Jake Virtanen scored a late third period goal to give the Canucks a 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact: It was Virtanen's tenth goal of the season. He has the most significant value in leagues that utilize SOG —Virtanen is second on the Canucks with 74.

Michael Del Zotto scored his first goal of the season in the second period of the Canucks 3-2 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: Michael Del Zotto’s days of fantasy relevancy were over after he left the Rangers. Del Zotto has 1 goal and 3 assists through 14 games this season. With no power play time Del Zotto is not worth owning in all fantasy formats.

Nikolay Goldobin got his 9th assist of the season on Elias Pettersson’s third period power play goal in the Canucks 3-2 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: Nikolay Goldobin’s fortunes seem to lie in the hands of Elias Pettersson. When Pettersson has been healthy this year Goldobin has been productive. Goldobin retains first power play line duty and second even strength line. Goldobin now has 2 goals and 9 assists through 22 games. Goldobin is a good medium to deep league player to own especially playing with Pettersson.

Markus Granlund scored a goal in the Canucks 6-2 loss to the Wild on Thursday. He scored a goal on six SOG in 18:53 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact: Granlund has 10 points on the season thru 21 games. This puts him on about a 40 point pace. Currently his career high is 32 points in 69 games back in 2016-2017.

Richard Bachman allowed six goals in the Canucks 6-2 loss to the Wild on Thursday. He saved 23-29 shots against.

Fantasy Impact: Bachman played terribly in his first NHL start since the 2016-2017 season. He is not the answer for the Canucks going forward and is not streamable.

Antoine Roussel had two assists during the Canucks 4-3 shootout loss to Buffalo. He finished the game with a minus-two rating, one shot, two blocks, and two hits in 16:29 minutes of ice time.

Fantasy Impact: This season in 14 games Roussel has three goals and four assists with a minus-three rating. In his last five games, he has two goals and three assists with five shots on goal.
