Casey DeSmith struggled in net for the Canucks Saturday, allowing four goals on 28 shots faced in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: DeSmith has struggled in limited action in the crease of late, allowing three or more goals in four of his last five starts (1-1-3) for the Canucks. The veteran netminder has fought consistency issues while serving as the backup to No.1 netminder Thatcher Demko for head coach Rick Tocchet, posting a 2.74 GAA and .908 save percentage in 16 appearances (7-3-5) so far this season.

Filip Hronek posted three points for the Canucks Saturday, scoring one goal and picking up two assists in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings.

Fantasy Impact: Hronek has struggled to make much of an impact in the offensive zone of late, picking up points in just one of his last 10 games (one goal, two assists) for the Canucks. The blueliner will look to break out of his recent struggles and return to his early-season form in lineups for fantasy managers, notching 39 points (four goals, 35 assists) to go along with 46 hits and a +34 plus/minus in 52 games so far this season.

Thatcher Demko struggled in net for the Canucks Thursday night, allowing four goals on 25 shots faced in a 4-0 loss to the Bruins.

Fantasy Impact: Demko has fought consistency issues in net of late, allowing three or more goals in six of his last 10 starts (9-1-0) for the Canucks. The netminder has been picked up by a dynamic Vancouver offensive attack under head coach Rick Tocchet when the 28-year-old is not at his best, carrying a 2.47 GAA and .918 save percentage to go along with five shutouts in 37 appearances (27-9-1) so far this season.

Fantasy Impact: Horvat gives an immediate boost to an Islanders squad that has struggled to produce consistent offense in front of all-world netminder Ilya Sorokin as the club pushes for a postseason berth. The 27-year-old superstar has been strong to this point for fantasy owners, posting a 1.10 point per game average (31 goals, 23 assists) in 49 games so far this season.

Colin Delia was solid in net for the Canucks Friday night, stopping 24 of 26 shots faced in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Fantasy Impact: Delia has allowed three goals or less in four of his last five appearances (3-1-0) for the Canucks, posting a .910 save percentage in that span. The 28-year-old netminder is an intriguing option until No. 1 goaltender Thatcher Demko returns from injury, posting a 2.94 GAA and .898 save percentage in 11 appearances (6-3-0) in the crease so far this season.

Quinn Hughes picked up two points for the Canucks Friday night, scoring one goal and picking up one assist in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Fantasy Impact: Hughes has been a strong blueline option for the Canucks of late, recording 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in his last 10 games for the club. The 23-year-old blueliner has been a consistent producer for fantasy owners so far this season, posting a 1.00 point per game average (five goals, 40 assists) in 45 games so far this season.

Brock Boeser notched two assists in the Canucks' 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Fantasy Impact: Boeser has been up-and-down of late for the Canucks, picking up points in five of his last nine games (two goals, five assists) for the club. The 25-year-old has disappointed fantasy owners for much of the season to this point, scoring nine goals and adding 21 assists for 30 points in 41 games so far this season.

J.T. Miller tallied two assists Friday night in the Canucks' 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Fantasy Impact: Miller has now tallied points in nine of his last 13 games for the Canucks, scoring five goals and picking up nine assists in that span. The 29-year-old forward has been fairly consistent for fantasy owners to this point, posting 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) in 49 games so far this season.

Conor Garland was able to light the lamp for the Canucks Wednesday night, scoring the team's lone goal in a 6-1 loss to the Kraken.

Fantasy Impact: Garland has picked up points in six of his last 10 games for the Canucks, scoring three goals and adding three assists in that span. The 26-year-old forward is one of many Vancouver skaters who have underachieved to this point for fantasy owners, recording just 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) in 47 games so far this season.

Spencer Martin struggled between the pipes for the Canucks Wednesday night, allowing six goals on 35 shots faced in a 6-1 loss to the Kraken.

Fantasy Impact: Martin has struggled in the crease of late for the Canucks, allowing three or more goals in each of his last eight starts (0-8-0, .822 save percentage) for the club. The 27-year-old netminder is not a worthwhile option for fantasy owners at this point, carrying an abysmal 3.94 GAA and .875 save percentage in 27 appearances (11-13-1) in net so far this season.

Andrei Kuzmenko was able to find the back of the net for the Canucks Tuesday night, scoring two goals in a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Fantasy Impact: Kuzmenko has been strong in the offensive zone of late for the Canucks, scoring six goals and picking up five assists over his last 10 games for the club. The 26-year-old has been a fairly steady option on a disappointing Vancouver squad to this point, posting 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) in 46 games so far this season.

Fantasy Impact: After spending parts of 10 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, Dekeyser latched on with the Canucks via a PTO on Sept. 9. A former hot commodity out of college, Dekeyser's game never materialized into fantasy relevance but he could garner further NHL interest given his experience.

Ilya Mikheyev suffered a lower-body injury in a Sept. 25 exhibition game against the Calgary Flames. Head coach Bruce Boudreau said the ailment would keep the winger out "week to week." (Source: Ben Kuzma on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is not welcomed news for a player coming off a career year last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Mikheyev erupted for career highs in goals (21), points (32), and shots on goal (147) a season ago. Opening night still appears to be in play but we should know closer to the Canucks' regular-season opener on Oct. 12 against the Edmonton Oilers.

Pearson scored a second period goal of the Canucks 5-1 win over the Golden Knights.

Fantasy Impact: Vancouver's winger ended a lengthy goalless streak with that second period tally, he's up to 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 67 games this season.

Ekman-Larsson assisted on the first and fourth Canucks goals in their 5-1 win over Vegas.

Fantasy Impact: Vancouver's defenseman has points in three straight games and 5 points, all assists, in his last 5 games. He's at 23 points (4 goals, 19 assists) in 68 games this season.

Chiasson scored the first goal of the game early in the second period of the Canucks loss to St. Louis.

Fantasy Impact: The goal ended a lengthy pointless streak for the Vancouver veteran. He's up to 7 goals in 55 games this year.

Jaroslav Halak stopped 25 of 28 shots against in a 4-1 road loss in St. Louis. He was pulled with 3:17 to play and Tarasenko scored an empty net goal just a few moments later.

Fantasy Impact: Halak has won only one game in his last six starts and falls to 3-7-2 with a 3.19 goals against average and .894 save percentage in 15 games played this season.

Tyler Myers scored his first goal of the season late in the first period during the Canucks' 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Fantasy Impact: The veteran defenseman has been doing plenty of contributing with 101 hits and 111 blocked shots. His offensive stats do remain under his regular career numbers, but fantasy managers should see any tallies in this realm as a bonus.

Motte got the goal just eleven seconds into play, the fastest goal of the year, and also added his seventh assist. The Canucks fell behind 2-1 by the end of the first period of play, but Travis Hamonic and Vasily Podkolzin picked up a goal a piece to give the team a 3-2 advantage heading into the third. They eventually pulled away with a quick third period goal and closed things out with an empty-netter to make it 5-2.

Fantasy Impact: The goal put the defenseman at eight on the season and also notched him his 200th career point. He quickly picked up 201 with an assist in the second period. Motte added a block and came out in the positive in this one.
