Trade Deadline Candidates: Buy Low

Who is your favorite buy-low trade candidate at this point in the season, and why? Also, who are you willing to give up for him?

Kyren Williams (RB – LAR)

Kyren Williams is one of my favorite buy-low candidates. We knew the TD regression was coming, but the injuries have really hurt the entire offense. He has been facing stacked boxes at a much higher rate, and his offensive line play has been below average. The WRs are healthy, the offensive line is getting healthy, and the Rams are a playoff team. Look for the boxes to lighten up and scoring opportunities to increase. Kyren has the 3rd best strength of schedule per FantasyPros rest of the season. I am trading JK Dobbins and DeMario Douglas for Kyren.”
David Heilman (Sports Gambling Podcast Network)

Tony Pollard (RB – TEN)

Tony Pollard is the RB21 for the year, averaging 11.8 half-point PPR fantasy points. Unfortunately, the veteran has had back-to-back awful performances, totaling 12.2 fantasy points and 59 rushing yards. However, he faced two talented run defenses. Before the two-game rough patch, Pollard had averaged 4.5 yards per rushing attempt and 13.5 fantasy points per game over the previous four contests. Meanwhile, Tyjae Spears is in the concussion protocol and has struggled to stay healthy this season, meaning Pollard should have a significant workload moving forward. More importantly, he has an excellent upcoming schedule, including two matchups against the Jacksonville Jaguars over the next five weeks. I would happily flip Rhamondre Stevenson or Najee Harris for Pollard.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – ARI)

“Fantasy managers should still be trying to buy as much as Marvin Harrison Jr. as they possibly can. With the Cardinals sitting in 1st place in the NFC West, they are going to be playing meaningful football down the stretch. If they have any shot of making the playoffs, they have to keep finding ways to get MHJ open. It has been better lately for the rookie, with two scores in his last three contests, and a schedule down the stretch that is simply breathtaking. Managers should be comfortable trading DeAndre Hopkins, Jayden Reed, and Najee Harris, in a package to get any transaction done and dusted.”
Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

Drake London (WR – ATL)

Drake London has had a rough stretch over recent weeks, but that comes with multiple games outdoors and a hip injury, which cut a plus matchup against Dallas short. The Falcons’ bye week is coming up, and London should be fresh to end the season, while Darnell Mooney just injured his hamstring. Atlanta has an incredible fantasy playoff schedule and four straight weeks indoors. Their Week 17 matchup in Washington is a wild card if there is weather, but at least the game total should be high given the firepower on both sides and poor defenses.”
Kev Mahserejian (RotoBaller)

Michael Pittman (WR – IND)

“Buy Michael Pittman for a rock bottom price. Pittman has battled injuries and awful quarterback play for the majority of the season and has become a forgotten receiver. With the return of Anthony Richardson, many fantasy managers have resorted to outright dropping hitman. Well, I’m not saying you should sell the farm to acquire him. I expect him to produce as a WR3 for the rest of the season, and I would be willing to trade DeAndre Hopkins, Xavier Worthy, and any Packers receiver not named Jaden Reed to acquire him.”
Aaron St Denis (Fantasy Football Universe)

Calvin Ridley (WR – TEN)

Calvin Ridley signed a massive contract to play for the Tennessee Titans, but the season didn’t start off as fantasy owners wanted. Recently, he has started to come on with four games over 50 yards and 4+ receptions highlighted by a 10/143 performance in Detroit at the end of October. Will Levis is healthy, and the Titans will be behind often, meaning that they will be passing. Now that Ridley is comfortable in the offense, he should command more targets and help teams heading into the playoffs. He could possibly be traded for any of the Green Bay WRs, Ladd McConkey, or DJ Moore (and you could probably get another play in this trade).”
Adam Dove (The Fantasy Couriers)

Tyreek Hill (WR – MIA)

“I like Tyreek Hill as a buy-low candidate. The Dolphins are getting healthy, and the offense is finally starting to click. I know his wrist could be an issue for the rest of the season, but he seems to be handling the issue better right now. His weekly ceiling is as high as any fantasy receiver in the game, so I like taking a chance on him. I would be willing to give up someone like Terry McLaurin or Jaxon Smith-Njigba for him, who are both top-10 fantasy receivers right now.”
Jeff Paur (RTSports)

Amari Cooper (WR – BUF)

“It’s time to buy Amari Cooper. As the Bills head into their bye in Week 12, Cooper has done next to nothing since being traded to the Buffalo Bills ahead of Week 7. After a solid showing against Tennessee in limited work, Cooper has recorded just three receptions for 58 yards and 0 touchdowns over the season’s last month. Part of this is due to Cooper’s ailing wrist, but part is due to complications of integrating an alpha wide receiver into a functional offense mid-season. With the bye ahead, the Bills will finally have the opportunity to work with and feature Cooper in a pretty friendly schedule down the stretch. I’ll happily send teammate Khalil Shakir or Josh Downs to acquire Cooper or an RB like JK Dobbins or Austin Ekeler to get in on Cooper right now.”

Trade Deadline Candidates: Sell High

Who is your favorite sell-high candidate at this point in the season and why? Also, who would you try to get in return?

J.K. Dobbins (RB – LAC)

J.K. Dobbins had six carries for 6 yards before going off on his walk-off touchdown. We have seen his efficiency dip, and we have seen Gus Edwards get more involved. I love the direction this offense is going, but J.K. always scares me. He doesn’t have the safety net of any receiving work, and finishing the season healthy would be a huge victory. I hope he does it, but I am getting out while I can. Trading J.K. Dobbins to move up for someone like Brian Robinson Jr., who has the 5th best Strength of Schedule per FantasyPros. Dobbins plus someone to get Kyren Williams, who has the 3rd best strength of schedule.”
David Heilman (Sports Gambling Podcast Network)

Christian Watson (WR – GB)

Christian Watson was the WR10 in Week 11, totaling 17 half-point PPR fantasy points. However, he was the WR78 over the first 10 weeks, averaging 5.6 fantasy points per game, scoring 8.8 or fewer in all but one contest. Last week, the third-year pro had only four targets against the Chicago Bears after seeing at least six in each of the previous two games. Yet, Watson finished with four receptions for 150 receiving yards, averaging 4.3 fantasy points per target. By comparison, he had averaged 1.7 fantasy points per game before last week’s contest. If the receiver is still on your roster, now is the time to sell high. I would happily flip Watson for Cedric Tillman.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

Taysom Hill (TE – NO)

“After a huge week that saw Taysom Hill record 188 yards of offense with 3 TDs, he is a must-sell at this Trade Deadline. Hill brings appeal because of how he is used as a passer, as a receiver, and as a runner, but this was the definition of a blow-up game for Hill. Hill this season had not recorded more than 100 yards of total offense prior to Week 11, and his usage will change week-by-week. If any manager could secure a fringe WR2 or fringe RB2, such as Ladd McConkey or Tony Pollard, in any Hill deal, that should be a very easy yes to make.”
Ed Birdsall (Talking Points Sports)

“Somewhere in your league, there is a manager who is in desperate need of an elite tight end and believes that Taysom Hill is the answer to their prayers after a 40-point Week 11. He isn’t the answer, so now is the time to find that manager and sell quickly. This happens every year when Hill puts up a monster week that keeps him in the Top 10 at tight end before he disappears back into obscurity. Week 11 will go down as the best performance of his season and likely his last usable week of the year. Find the manager who needs him and sell him for any player you can confidently flex for the rest of the season. I won’t name any specific players I would be willing to trade him for because the list of players I wouldn’t trade him for is far shorter.”
Aaron St Denis (Fantasy Football Universe)

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR – SEA)

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has wreaked havoc over the past two games with 290 yards and 2TD on 24 targets. However, the Seahawks were without DK Metcalf in Week 9 and have a brutal schedule of pass defenses in the fantasy playoffs. While it is fair to say that JSN has usurped Tyler Lockett in the Seahawks’ pecking order, Lockett is still present while Noah Fant‘s return looms. Also, none of their playoff matchups are indoors, while Week 17 is in Chicago, which should be windy with potential precipitation. ”
Kev Mahserejian (RotoBaller)

Ladd McConkey (WR – LAC)

Ladd McConkey is having a solid rookie year, rewarding owners who took the gamble on him in their draft. His biggest challenge is that he is the top receiver on a running team. He just exploded for 123 yards on six receptions, which puts him on the radar of many fantasy managers. He has some challenging defenses in the fantasy playoffs (TB, DEN, NE), so try to trade him now and be rewarded in the playoffs. Khalil Shakir and his consistent targets in a high-powered offense would be a great trade target, as well as Josh Downs, who is ascending.”
Adam Dove (The Fantasy Couriers)

Jayden Daniels (QB – WAS)

“I think Jayden Daniels’ rib injury is a lot worse than he is letting everyone know. He just doesn’t look himself in recent weeks, taking few chances down the field and missing on throws he made earlier in the year. Daniels has fewer than 17 fantasy points in each of his last two games. I would try to get solid running back depth in return, getting a player like Tyrone Tracy. ”
Jeff Paur (RTSports)

Anthony Richardson (QB – IND)

“It can be difficult to deal away a QB in single QB leagues, but I’m testing the waters on Anthony Richardson to see if anyone is buying in. A Rich was money last week in New York against a reeling Jets squad, but his 66% completion percentage and two rushing touchdowns will serve as confirmation bias to some. I’m more of the belief it’s just the terrible state of things in New York, and the Colts have a brutal upcoming schedule, facing off against Detroit, New England, and Denver, along with a bye in the next month. I’d prefer to swap A Rich for the still somehow undervalued Bo Nix or use him to pull a depth flex option like Rhamondre Stevenson or Calvin Ridley. Richardson’s Week 11 is more likely an aberration than it is a sign of things to come this season, so I’ll gladly send him away right now.”
