Dynasty Trade Advice: Quarterbacks to Target (2025 Fantasy Football)

Here are a few of our top dynasty trade targets following the 2025 NFL Draft. Let’s dive into a few quarterbacks to target in dynasty trades. Use our dynasty trade calculator to help with values.

Dynasty Quarterback Trade Targets

With the NFL Draft officially in the rearview, it’s time to re-evaluate the landscape for fantasy purposes.

Below are six quarterbacks I’m targeting in leagues where I have a need or am trying to accrue value. Even if I don’t need a quarterback, I’m always a fan of adding players for cheap and trading them away later when their value has recovered.

Jayden Daniels (QB – WSH)

I rarely advocate for buying top-tier talent at any position, but Jayden Daniels feels different. He’s currently the QB3 in FantasyPros’ dynasty expert consensus rankings (ECR) with only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson ahead of him. Daniels balled out in 2024, finishing as the fantasy QB5 on the year as a rookie. His best years are still ahead of him, which is why he makes this list.

Daniels will cost a pretty penny, but now might be a good time to ask. A lot of dynasty managers are looking at the incoming rookies and planning for their rookie drafts. They might be willing to send Daniels for picks they wouldn’t have been willing to do months ago. The Commanders didn’t add anyone in the first three rounds of the draft that would impact their offense, so perhaps Daniels can be added at a discount. Even if it’s a small one, it’s worth it.

Drake Maye (QB – NE)

I’m a little confused as to why Drake Maye is ranked at QB7 in ECR for dynasty. I like the player, but not the ranking. The Patriots added wide receiver Stefon Diggs in free agency and wide receiver Kyle Williams in the third round of the NFL Draft. They also added two offensive linemen and running back TreVeyon Henderson. They are looking to upgrade their offense, which will help Maye be the best version of himself that he can be.

The incoming rookie class of quarterbacks is also a little lackluster. The Patriots seem to be going all in on Maye, which bodes well for his prospects in dynasty. I’d try sending a package of rookie picks to the team that currently rosters him. You might be surprised that it might not take all that much.

Depending on their roster, I could see a late-first pick and an early-second pick being enough to acquire him. Whatever the cost, I’m targeting Maye in trades now before people catch on to all of the improvements around him.

Justin Herbert (QB – LAC)

Ranked right behind Maye is Justin Herbert with an ECR of QB8 in dynasty. Much like Maye, Herbert, and the Chargers at large, upgraded at the wide receiver and running back positions in the draft, as well as adding running back Najee Harris in free agency.

Adding a back like Omarion Hampton with the 22nd pick makes me think he’ll be used heavily in the offense. This lowers the value of the aforementioned Harris, but it helps the offense as a whole.

The Chargers saw rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey break out in 2024. He launched himself into the top-12 receiver conversation for dynasty. Wideout Quentin Johnston will need to figure out how to catch the ball, or else second-round rookie receiver Tre Harris could jump him on the depth chart.

All in all, the 2025 Chargers look to be primed to explode for fantasy purposes. This should help Herbert’s fantasy value directly. Add him now, as teams are distracted by the shiny new toys being added to the toy box.

Baker Mayfield (QB – TB)

Baker Mayfield finished just ahead of star rookie Daniels in 2024 as QB4. This year, he gets wideout Chris Godwin back and the Buccaneers drafted stud receiver Emeka Egbuka with the 19th overall pick. Hall-of-Famer Mike Evans will be aiming for his 12th straight 1,000-yard season as well.

Behind Mayfield, the team also has breakout star running back Bucky Irving ready to take attention off the passing game. All of these points make Mayfield a steal for fantasy purposes. Not only are things looking up for Mayfield, but the Bucs as a team are looking to run it back in a weak NFC South division.

Mayfield will be the one driving that. He’s currently ranked as the QB15 in dynasty ECR, making him a great QB2 in Superflex leagues. If his current manager wants out, now would be a great time to tempt him with some rookie picks as you head into your rookie draft.

Jared Goff (QB – DET)

Jared Goff is ranked right behind Mayfield at QB16 in dynasty ECR, but much like Mayfield, he had a great 2024. Goff’s QB6 finish leads me to believe he’s the real deal. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a great year, finishing as the fantasy WR3, and Jameson Williams finally provided some value for fantasy managers who held onto him. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is in the RB1 overall conversation. All of this makes Goff very appealing for fantasy.

However, the Lions did lose the mastermind of the offense in Ben Johnson, who is now the head coach of the Bears. Dynasty managers could be worried about that and willing to send Goff away for less than he’s worth. I’m happily adding him if I can get a discount because he’ll be a great QB2 in Superflex. I might even be fine leaning on him as my QB1 in single-quarterback leagues, too, just because his floor is that high.

Trevor Lawrence (QB – JAX)

I’ve been on the Trevor Lawrence train for months now. My recent article about buy-low candidates featured Lawrence, and I’m mentioning him here again. The Jaguars made a huge splash at the top of the NFL Draft by trading up from the fifth pick to the second pick to select WR/CB Travis Hunter. The team already has a stud in Brian Thomas Jr., and now they have a unicorn in Hunter.

This move makes me very excited for Lawrence’s future. I know he had a lot of hype around him when he came out, which has since dissipated, but I’m ready to be hurt again. Lawrence’s QB20 ranking in dynasty ECR will be laughable come August. Mark my words.
