- Hurston Waldrep has been nothing short of excellent since coming back from the Minors. He has only allowed four earned runs in his first 35 innings. Four of his past five starts have gone for at least 23 points on DraftKings and 41 points on FanDuel.
- Joe Ryan has a matchup today against Kansas City. He is 8-0 against Kansas City in his career. The eight wins against Kansas City are four more wins than he has against any other team. It’s not just that he has had extensive run support either. He has a 1.34 ERA and a 0.76 WHIP against Kansas City over 60.1 innings.
- Shane Baz is a highly volatile asset. He has made 11 starts going back to the start of July. In nine of those games, he has scored at least 24 points on FanDuel, including a couple of performances over 40 points. In his other two starts, he didn’t score at all. Today, he gets a matchup against the Cleveland Guardians, who have the lowest team wRC+ in baseball in the second half.

- The Tampa Bay Rays have a home matchup today against the Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians are starting Tanner Bibee. He has struggled to a 5.91 ERA in the second half of the season. He also has been worse on the road all season with a road 5.64 ERA compared to a 3.77 ERA at home.
- Junior Caminero has been able to hit for power no matter where he is. He has 21 home runs in home games and 19 home runs in road games. The difference has been a substantially better batting average and on-base percentage (OBP) at home versus on the road. In home games, he is batting .327 with a .365 OBP. In road games, he is batting only .198 with a .243 OBP.
- Yandy Diaz has been on a tear recently. In the last 28 days, he has seven doubles, two home runs and is batting .363. He has hit for more power at home than on the road. Seventeen of his home runs have come in home games, and only five have come in away games.
- Josh Lowe has been disappointing relative to expectations this season. While he plays against some left-handed pitchers, he is only a DFS option against right-handed pitchers. Twenty-four of his 30 extra-base hits have come against right-handed pitchers. He has also been doing well recently with a .930 OPS over the past two weeks.

- McCade Brown is expected to make his third career start today. So far, he has pitched 7.2 innings with an ERA of 8.22 and a FIP of 6.66. This is his second start at Coors Field, which will only make run prevention more difficult.
- Getting Manny Machado into your lineup is never a bad call. He has been a bit cold in the second half with only a .742 OPS. Still, he hit a home run on Thursday, which could be the start of the turnaround. He’s also at a cheaper price than we’ve seen from him in a while.
- Ramon Laureano has not slowed down since coming to the Padres. He has a .950 OPS since joining the Padres. He doesn’t have any notable discernible splits as he has performed equally well against right-handed and left-handed pitchers. Over the last 28 days, he has hit six home runs.
- This is a good fit for Jake Cronenworth. He has been better with a .784 OPS against right-handed pitchers. He has also been better on the road with a .797 OPS.

Core Studs
- This is the perfect opportunity to get Nathaniel Lowe into your lineup. He is facing a right-handed pitcher in Brandon Pfaadt. Sixteen of his 18 home runs have come against right-handed pitchers. Plus, he is 6-for-10 against Pfaadt in his career with two doubles and a home run. Lowe is especially appealing on FanDuel with his price.
- While Luke Keaschall‘s price keeps climbing, it still hasn’t caught up to his performance. Over 33 games, Keaschall still has a .927 OPS. That’s a top-10 mark in the league if you drop the qualification to 140 plate appearances.
- There are only four batters with more home runs in the second half than Willy Adames. He has 14 home runs and an .883 OPS in the second half of the season. He has a road matchup against Andre Pallante. His road OPS (.788) is nearly 100 points higher than his home OPS (.696).
Value Plays/Punts
- It’s not an easy matchup for Jeremiah Jackson against Yoshinobu Yamamoto. It hasn’t mattered who he has faced in the last week. He has three home runs in the last week and is a hot hand play.
- Kike Hernandez is a true punt option if you need to save money. He has a difficult matchup against left-handed pitcher Trevor Rogers. Hernandez is a cheap option who can hit for power against left-handed pitchers.
- Nolan Gorman is a boom-or-bust option if you are looking to save some money. We know he can hit a home run against anyone. He has hit two home runs in two at-bats against Justin Verlander in his career.
Saturday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Spencer Torkelson has had at least one total base in each of his three September games. He has a matchup today against left-handed pitcher Martin Perez. Torkelson has a slash line of .275/.376/.565 against left-handed pitchers.
We’ve reached the final month of the regular season. Let’s finish strong with today’s MLB DFS picks. We’re looking at the DraftKings slate that begins at 7:05 p.m. ET and includes nine games. FanDuel has an identical slate.

Saturday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Spencer Torkelson has had at least one total base in each of his three September games. He has a matchup today against left-handed pitcher Martin Perez. Torkelson has a slash line of .275/.376/.565 against left-handed pitchers.
Brice Turang has had at least two total bases in seven of his last nine games started, including his last four games. The power breakout of Turang has been one of the biggest surprises of the season. He has 20 extra-base hits since the beginning of August. Today, he has a matchup against Mitch Keller, who had a 1.59 WHIP in August.
Since coming back from injury, Yordan Alvarez has looked like the player who was drafted in the top 20 of fantasy drafts. He is 14-for-28 with two doubles and two home runs. He has three multi-hit games already in September. The matchup against Jacob deGrom is difficult, but Alvarez can score points against anyone.
