Fantasy Football Burning Questions

What is the Trade Deadline Fallout?

The trade deadline was action-packed on Tuesday, with 27-seven players moved in total this season, the most ever over the last 25 years. The Jets headlined the day, trading away two All-Pro players in Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams in exchange for three first-round draft picks, a second-round draft pick, Adonai Mitchell and Mazi Smith. The move should benefit both Mitchell and Justin Fields, with little to no depth behind Garrett Wilson, who has returned to practice and is expected to suit up in Week 10.

The Seahawks also added a wide receiver in Rashid Shaheed, trading away 2026 fourth- and fifth-round picks for one of the more underrated deep threats in the league. The move adds another weapon for Sam Darnold, who leads the NFL in completion rate on passes of 20+ yards downfield (61.3%), is ranked second among starting quarterbacks in passer rating (116) and third in expected points added (EPA) per play (0.28). Shaheed should have a role as soon as this weekend, with Tory Horton doubtful and Cooper Kupp questionable.

What to Make of the Commanders?

The Commanders were humiliated Monday night, defeated 38-14 by the Seahawks, but suffered an even bigger loss in Jayden Daniels, who exited late in the fourth quarter with a dislocated elbow. Fortunately, Daniels will not be placed on the injured reserve (IR) list after his MRI revealed no ligament damage, giving him a chance to return after the team’s Week 12 bye.

Still, at 3-6, Washington may decide to play it safe and protect their franchise quarterback, trailing the Eagles (6-2) and Cowboys (3-5) in the division. While Daniels is sidelined, Marcus Mariota will draw the start, making him a viable streamer depending on the matchup. It’s hard to trust anyone on the offense outside of Deebo Samuel, who is averaging only 22.3 yards over his last three games. However, Samuel should remain Mariota’s clear No. 1 target with Terry McLaurin and Luke McCaffrey out.

Is Jacoby Brissett the Real Deal?

Coming out of the bye, Jacoby Brissett was once again named the starter and put on a show on Monday night, completing 21 passes on 31 dropbacks (67.7% completion rate) for 261 yards, scoring twice through the air and once on the ground in a 27-14 upset over the Cowboys. There was already a quarterback controversy brewing after the win; however, the Cardinals made it easy by placing Kyler Murray on IR, set to miss at least four games.

Marvin Harrison Jr. broke out for his best game of the season, catching seven passes on 10 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown, leading the team with a 27% target share. Harrison gets a bump with Brissett under center, but Trey McBride is the biggest winner, finishing as a top-six tight end in each of the last three games. During that span, he averaged 7.7 receptions on 13 targets for 67 yards, 1.3 touchdowns and 22.4 PPR points. McBride also led the team with a 29.7% target share and a 37.1% first-read share, per StatRankings.com.
