The strange scheduling changes that the NBA Cup brings about have, well, come out of nowhere for the third straight year. It’s just one of those things you don’t remember exists until there are four or fewer total games just about every night in mid-December.

If you feel like a trade is what your fantasy squad needs to turn its fortunes around, you’ve come to the right place.
Fantasy Basketball Trade Advice (Week 8)
Trade For
Jaren Jackson Jr. (PF, C – MEM)
Jaren Jackson Jr. has been one of the bigger head-scratchers of the fantasy season thus far. The Memphis big man is averaging 17 points, five rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 stocks (steals plus blocks) for a total of 29.25 fantasy points per game.
These numbers aren’t much different than his career stats. Yet, his substitute, Santi Aldama, is outscoring him in fantasy. It’s hard to tell why there’s been such a dip in fantasy performance from last season by looking at the numbers — especially with Ja Morant missing so much time.
Perhaps it’s the emergence of Cedric Coward, the big-time play of Zach Edey, who’s set to miss the next month with an ankle injury or Tuomas Iisalo’s full-time replacement of Taylor Jenkins; it really is tough to say.
Regardless, if you need a buy-low upside swing, take one on a player who’s underperforming but proven.

Devin Vassell (SG, SF – SA)
Between consecutive single-digit scoring games and the news of Victor Wembanyama‘s Saturday return, Devin Vassell‘s fantasy stock has taken a big tumble lately.
With career averages of just 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists, Vassell has always heavily relied on his scoring to perform in fantasy. However, with Wembanyama set to come back from a calf strain, there will be fewer scoring opportunities available for the Spurs wing.
In games without Wembanyama this season, Vassell averages over 17 points per game on 13.3 attempts compared to 13.7 points on 12.2 attempts with him.

Trade For
Tyler Herro (PG, SG – MIA)
Tyler Herro has been fantastic since he returned late last month. The Heat guard is setting career-highs in field-goal rate and three-point shooting while averaging 23.2 points through six contests this season. Yet, Herro is currently averaging fewer fantasy points than he did last season.
The reason for the dip has everything to do with his involvement on the ball. Following a career-best 5.5 assists per game last year, Herro is now posting just 2.3 in Miami’s new-look offense.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see that figure improve as the season goes on. Explore deals for the high-volume, highly efficient Herro.

Myles Turner (C – MIL)
We’re one month into Myles Turner‘s Milwaukee tenure, and his numbers have been rather average relative to his career numbers.
Among players currently eligible to fill a center spot in Yahoo! lineups, Turner ranks 39th in fantasy points per game. The ex-Pacer is rostered in 96% of Yahoo! leagues and scoring similarly to Donovan Clingan, Jusuf Nurkic and Derik Queen. Nurkic and Queen are rostered in 44% and 49%, for reference.
While Turner is a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade away from a boost in production, if you need wins now, Turner probably isn’t helping you much.
