Alex Bregman receives 'aggressive' offer from Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have reportedly made an aggressive offer to bring back free agent third baseman Alex Bregman. (Buster Olney via Robbie Hyde on Twitter)

It's no surprise the Red Sox are aggressively trying to retain the 31-year-old after originally signing him to a three-year deal with a $40 million average annual value just last offseason. After opting out of that deal, it appears Bregman has an opportunity to return, if he chooses. His first year in Boston was a resounding success as he hit .273 with 18 home runs and an .822 OPS in 114 games.
