by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Fri, Apr 3rd 11:39pm EDT

Colin Rea pitched 3.1 innings in relief of Cubs' starter, Cade Horton who exited Friday's start after one inning with right forearm discomfort. Rea allowed one run on four hits, walked one, and struck out four in a no-decision.

Fantasy Impact:

Rea was summoned from the bullpen much earlier than anticipated on Friday and gave the Cubs 3.1 solid innings of relief, throwing 57 pitches - 37 for strikes. It was the second appearance of the year for the righthander as he earned a three-inning save his first time out. He has a 4.26 ERA in 6.1 innings with an 8:1 K:BB ratio in his two outings. According to reports, Horton will be placed on the 15-day IL and Rea, who made 27 starts last season for the Cubs, would likely step into his spot in the rotation.
