Carmen Mlodzinski suffers loss Friday at San Francisco

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sat, May 9th 4:16am EDT

Carmen Mlodzinski was saddled with the loss on Friday after allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings in San Francisco.

Fantasy Impact:

Mlodzinski pitched to contact all night as he did not issue a walk and struck out only one batter in six innings. It was an odd line for Mlodzinski, who was coming off of a career-high 10 strikeouts in his previous start and had struck out at least five batters in five of his first seven outings. He scattered seven hits, including a solo home run by Rafael Devers in the second and left trailing, 2-1. He has now allowed home runs in consecutive games after not serving one up in his first six appearances. He will take a 2-3 record, a 4.50 ERA, and a 41:13 K:BB ratio into his next start, at home, against Colorado on Thursday.
