Troy Melton allowed one unearned run on four hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Melton continues an impressive stretch of late, allowing two earned runs or less in each of his last nine trips to the mound. The right-hander has rewarded manager AJ Hinch with another elite option as part of a revamped Tigers rotation after the trade deadline, carrying a 1.46 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with a 7-1 record and 7.8 K/9 ratio through 13 starts.
