Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac were traded Wednesday to the New York Islanders. In return, the Devils receive depth forwards A.J. Greer and Mason Jobst, the Islanders' first-round pick in the 2021 NHL draft and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Palmieri will help ease the loss of Anders Lee to his season-ending injury. He will not be among the elite wingers but should be on rosters in all but the shallowest leagues. Zajac is 35 years old but there are plenty of leagues where he would be useful.

Ilya Samsonov will miss the next for games for breaking the NHL Covid-19 protocols. (Source: Stephen Whyno on Twiter)

Fantasy Impact: Samsonov should be locked and loaded once his quarantine time is over. It is tough to lose your top goaltender for sitting with teammates.

The forward has signed for $3 million ($1.5 each year). (Source: Ryan Rishaug via Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This season Archibald has 20 points in 59 games played, which is, so far, his best season.

Per Coach Sullivan, Angello was recalled on an emergency basis due to the illness of Branden Tanev. (Source: Penguins via Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Angello has one point (a goal) in the eight games he has played. He was on the ice less than seven minutes on Tuesday, so he has basically no fantasy impact.

Jonathan Bernier allowed three goals in the Red Wings' 4-3 shootout loss to the Senators on Saturday. He saved 36-39 shots against in the loss. Bernier dropped his record to 13-20-3 with a 2.94 GAA and a .907 SV%.

Fantasy Impact: Bernier is playing behind a bad team. He is also not a top end goalie the mix of the makes it tough. Yet he is the clear must start guy in Detroit.

The Oilers gave up center Kyle Brodziak who is on long-term injured reserve and a draft pick. (Source: WXYZ Detroit)

Fantasy Impact: Green was on the ice for 12:58 in his first game for Edmonton. He has 11 points in 49 games (-33) and is not likely to have much fantasy impact.

Chris Kreider and the New York Rangers have come to terms on a seven-year contract extension that has a $6.5 million annual salary. (Source: ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact: Kreider was one of the bigger names circulating in trade rumors during the days leading up to the deadline. He was to be a UFA by the summer and the Rangers realized they needed to get a long-term deal done or trade him to get their money's worth. His recent strong play most likely had an impact in convincing the Rangers to shell out the money to their talented forward. He has 24 goals and 45 points in 60 games.

The New York Rangers have decided to trade Brady Skjei to the Carolina Hurricanes for a first-round pick. (Source: Bob McKenzie on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Skjei had spent his first five seasons with the Rangers while compiling 25 goals, 112 points, and a minus-25 rating through 307 games played.

Fantasy Impact: In 55 games, Sheary had 19 points in 55 games (-4). Evan Rodrigues tallied nine points in 38 games (-8). So a very active trade deadline day for the Oilers, with fallout to-be-determined.

Fantasy Impact: Lafferty had only 13 points in 61 games, so this transaction is of little fantasy interest.

The third-pair defenseman was sent down to the Hershey Bears just before the 3 p.m. deadline. (Source: Kyle Mace via Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This of minimal fantasy interest, but the Caps can recall Sieganthaler at any time for maximum flexibility.

The Oilers get a "talented" forward while giving up a fifth-round 2021 draft pick to the Senators. (Source: Josh Young of Last Word on Hockey)

Fantasy Impact: Ennis recorded 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points in 61 games. This should be good for injury-plagued Edmonton.

Robin Lehner has been traded to the Las Vegas Golden Knights for an unknown return. (Source: Darren Dreger on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: WOW! Lehner to the Knights was never on the known radar. He is the most talented goalie on the roster at this point in their careers. It is unknown who will see the playoffs starts at this time but the next couple of months should decide that.

Erik Gustafsson has been traded to the Calgary Flames for conditional draft picks not known at this time. (Source: Blackhawks talk on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gustafsson is an offensive minded defenseman who has been disappointing this season. The trade probably has more to do with the health of Mark Giordano than anything. He is not worth an add and will see a dip in minutes especially as soon as Giordano returns from injury.

Andreas Athanasiou was traded to the Edminton Oilers for two second round picks. (Source: Darren Dreger on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: Athanasiou is a very fast skater and can create space quickly. His effort is often in question and his role is unknown currently. If Atanasiou can get a top two-line spot, he may be worth an add. It is hard to imagine this but is possible. He should be added to all watchlists.

The Penguins acquired the winger in return for a third-round draft pick. (The pick becomes a second-rounder if Pittsburgh wins the Cup.) (Source: Josh Schrock of NBS Sports)

Fantasy Impact: Marleau has twenty points in 58 games (-5) and was getting around 15 minutes of ice time playing on the Sharks' top line.

The Capitals acquired an offensive weapon in the veteran forward. They gave up a third-round draft pick, with Montreal retaining half of Kovalchuk's salary. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: It's not clear yet where the Russian will slot, perhaps the third line. He will not add much defensively.

Per coach Mike Sullivan, Trotman was recalled due to several players dealing with minor ailments. (Source: Seth Rorabaugh of Trib LIVE)

Fantasy Impact: This Trotman's second trip to the NHL, he has no points in seven games played and is of no interest for fantasy.

San Jose received two draft picks in return for the defenseman, a 2020 second-round pick and a third-round pick in either 2020 or 2021. (Source: Jessica Klienschmidt of NBC Sports)

Fantasy Impact: The Caps defense definitely needs help. But don't expect much for fantasy, as Dillon has only 14 points (1 goal, 13 assists) in 59 games.

The Islanders placed Cole Bardreau on waivers, which will open a roster spot for the newly acquired Andy Greene. (Source: The Athletic on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Cole Bardreau being placed on waivers should have no impact for fantasy owners as he had only played in ten games for the Islanders this season.
