DraftKings NFL Cash Game Lineup Advice: Week 4

DraftKings NFL Cash Game Lineup Advice: Week 4

Week 4 brings us the first bye week of the season with the Redskins and the Panthers getting an early season rest. We are also deprived of the high-flying offenses of the Rams and Chiefs on the 12-game Sunday main slate, but there are still plenty of strong options to build out our DraftKings cash game lineup. If you have been reading my article the first three weeks, you should know my cash game mantra by now, find high volume players that give you a solid floor while also having the potential upside to find the end zone at least once.

Quarterback

Andrew Luck (IND): $5,500 vs. HOU
As my research has continued during the week, it keeps leading me back to Andrew Luck as my cash game QB. Luck will be back at home this week with the Texans coming to Indianapolis. He may not be pushing the ball down the field much so far this season, but the pass attempt volume is there averaging over 41 passes per game. Luck has posted at least 13 DraftKings points in each of his three games which is already 2.5 times is current salary, and he could quickly put up 300 yards and two scores like he did in the opener against the Bengals which netted him 23 DraftKings points and would be over four times his very affordable salary. Meanwhile, the Texans pass defense ranks 28th DVOA according to Football Outsiders. You feelin’ lucky? I am.

Other Notables:

Running Backs

Saquon Barkley (NYG): $8,100 vs. NO
A staple of my cash game running backs is that they must be game script independent. That is, they will be involved in the offense regardless of if their team is ahead and grinding out the clock or behind and looking to take to the air to catch up. Barkley is the newest RB that fits that mold. He has received at least 22 touches in each of the Giants three games while consistently putting up 22-24 DraftKings points in each contest. He’ll face a Saints team that has gotten into some shootouts early on this season, and the game has one of the highest Vegas totals of the week. The Saints run defense has held its own so far this year, but they haven’t faced an RB as dynamic as Barkley yet.

Giovani Bernard (CIN): $6,300 @ ATL
With Joe Mixon expected to miss his second straight game, Bernard will be the primary back again this week against the Falcons after getting every RB touch last week. He will be facing a Falcons’ defense that has allowed a remarkable 14 and 15 receptions to Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara, respectively, the last two weeks. Bernard might not be quite the receiving back as those two, but he is no slouch and stands to benefit with a large volume of targets in a game with the highest Vegas total on the Sunday slate. The raw numbers allowed by the Falcons run defense are decent, but their DVOA comes in at 32nd against the run, so Bernard should have a big all-around game.

Other Notables:

Wide Receivers

Jarvis Landry (CLE): $7,400 @ OAK
Landry caught one pass on six targets for 15 yards from Tyrod Taylor in Week 3 through the majority of the first half. Enter Baker Mayfield and Landry went on to catch another seven balls on nine targets for 88 yards in just over a half. Mayfield provided a spark to the Browns offense and while it might not look that easy every game, he will be locked in on feeding the ball to his top target, Landry, when the Browns travel to Oakland to face the Raiders this week. The Raiders have yielded the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs this season including five TD receptions, so look for Landry to hit paydirt for the first time this season on top of a baker’s dozen targets.

Allen Robinson (CHI): $5,900 vs. TB
Speaking of WRs that are still looking to find the end zone for their new team, Allen Robinson has yet to cross the goal line with the Bears despite seeing 28 targets through three games. He should have his best shot at a touchdown this week against the Buccaneers, who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs this season and will be coming off a short week following their loss on Monday night. Robinson has a very reasonable salary with a high target floor along with some big play and touchdown upside that he hasn’t realized yet.

Other Notables:

Tight End

Eric Ebron (IND): $3,600 vs. HOU
I know, I know, you played the chalk with Ebron at TE last week, and he let you down. However, that is one of the reasons to go right back to him as other’s recency bias will not allow them to click him back into their lineup this week. Sound familiar? It’s the same line I used when describing George Kittle at TE last week, which worked out well. This week it is Ebron, who despite catching just five balls for 33 yards last week, was targeted 11 times including four times in the red zone. Jack Doyle is likely out again this week, which should solidify Ebron’s target share once again this week against the Texans who have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing TEs.

Other Notables:

Defense

Chicago Bears D/ST (CHI): $2,600 vs. TB
The Bears defense continues to put up fantasy points with at least four sacks and two turnovers in each of their first three games on their way to averaging 14.7 DraftKings points per game. DraftKings is certainly giving Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick a lot of respect as the Bears D/ST salary has dropped $900 down to just $2,600 for their matchup with the Bucs. Sure, the Buccaneers have scored some points this season, but they have also averaged two turnovers per game and haven’t faced a pass rush like the Bears will bring at home in Chicago on Sunday.

Other Notables:

  • Jacksonville Jaguars D/ST (JAC): $4,100 vs. NYJ
  • Detroit Lions D/ST (DET): $2,500 @ DAL
