FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice Week 8 (Full Slate)

Hopefully, everyone cashed in Week 7 thanks to an exceptional effort from Justin Herbert, who put up 38.48 points. Sadly, our stack with Hunter Henry didn’t work out as planned. But every other player in our lineup, including the Washington defense, put up at least 12.8 points. We’ll take solid output across the board every week.

Let’s keep the momentum rolling! Here’s my Week 8 FanDuel full slate lineup:

Quarterback: Carson Wentz (PHI): $7,500

Wentz has quietly put up 29.42 and 28.76 FanDuel points in his last two games. He gets a great matchup against a Cowboys defense that is historically bad. The Philly offense doesn’t instill a ton of confidence. The offensive line is awful. But Wentz has produced despite it all. Plus, Dallas only has 13 sacks on the season. Expect another strong performance from Wentz in primetime.

Running Back: Kareem Hunt (CLE): $8,200

Hunt should crack the end zone at least once against a Raiders defense that’s surrendered the second-most FanDuel points per game to running backs this season. Las Vegas has given up the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL and has allowed 42 receptions for 380 yards to opposing tailbacks. Hunt should be even more involved in the passing game with Odell Beckham out for the season.

Running Back: Todd Gurley (ATL): $7,100

Gurley is quietly the RB8 in half-point PPR leagues and is sixth in rushing. This week, he gets a favorable matchup against a Panthers defense allowing 27.9 FanDuel points per game this season. Carolina has given up at least 117 rushing yards in all but one game this season and that was against a Chicago team with a terrible offensive line. Gurley pounded the Panthers for 121 yards and a touchdown and should see similar results Thursday night.

Wide Receiver: Tyreek Hill (KC): $8,100

If there’s a week to take a shot on Tyreek Hill, it’s against the worst team in football. The Jets have given up the sixth-most passing yards in the league and have allowed 7.3 net yards per attempt. That’s against Josh Allen twice, Jimmy Garoppolo/Nick Mullens, Philip Rivers, Brett Rypien, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Kyler Murray. So it’s not as if they’ve gone up against many of the league’s best quarterbacks. Hill has been a steady contributor this season, but get ready for an explosion this weekend.

Wide Receiver: Robby Anderson (CAR): $6,600

I typically don’t love relying too heavily on Thursday Night Football, but the matchups on both sides are too enticing to pass up. While Carolina’s passing game has been a little unpredictable, Anderson has been the most consistent weapon. The former Jet has put up at least eight FanDuel points and garnered at least five targets in every game this season. Anderson has a great chance to snap his six-game scoreless streak against Atlanta, who allowed him to catch eight passes for 112 yards in the first meeting between these teams.

Wide Receiver: Travis Fulgham (PHI): $6,300

An Eagles stack? Why not! Fulgham has emerged, almost by default, as Wentz’s go-to weapon in the passing game. He’s gotten 34 targets over Philly’s last three games and has put up 21 receptions for 300 yards and two scores. Sure, Jalen Reagor might be back in action. But how much of an impact will he really make? Fulgham is the guy and has a great opportunity against a Dallas defense that’s given up 35.7 FanDuel points per game to opposing wideouts.

Tight End: Jimmy Graham (CHI): $5,400

Let’s give a small round of applause to Grandpa Graham, who is the TE8 in half-point PPR leagues this season. All we’re asking for out of our tight end these days is to get into the end zone. Graham has a pretty decent shot of doing so. The Saints have given up six touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. And with top receiver Allen Robinson in concussion protocol, a few more targets could come Graham’s way. There are probably better upside plays out there, but I’ll take a flier on Graham in a favorable matchup.

FLEX: Brandon Aiyuk (SF) $5,900

As a Deebo Samuel owner in my main season-long league, I was infuriated to see Samuel get hurt during garbage time last week. However, this opens up the door for Aiyuk, who possesses a similar skillset to Samuel. Oh, and did I mention the Niners are playing Seattle? The rookie has an opportunity to be the No. 1 receiver against the most generous secondary in the league. George Kittle will get the most volume, but Aiyuk’s worth a shot.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense and Special Teams: $4,900

I went back and forth on putting the Bucs or the Eagles defense into my lineup. In the end, I like Tampa’s matchup just a bit more against the turnover-prone Daniel Jones. The second-year QB reminds me of Jameis Winston because he can’t take care of the football. Jones already has seven interceptions and four fumbles lost this year. He’s struggled mightily against elite defenses this year. Tampa’s front seven should cause a ton of havoc, which is a recipe for disaster for Jones. Hopefully, the Buccaneers can win us some more money on Monday night.
